Why is learning the remote IRB MAC, a limitation of Asymmetric IRB? The DMAC of the inner ethernet header is set to the MAC address of the destination host i.e. the inner ethernet header is fully populated on the ingress VTEP itself, before handing over the packet to the respective IRB on the ingress VTEP. Where exactly does the remote IRB MAC address come into picture?
The music is so distracting and annoying.
5:50 ther's a typo. The second sentence should be "Ingress VTEP routes..."
Bro a big thanks for making series of these topics, but still im not able to understand this😢 pls try to make in easy way to understand its very difficult for me i guess its new that is why
Will try to simplify more
Good reading..
Hi i have a one small question, PE-PE MAC exchange happen in control plane but wat about PE-customer(hosts). Host will still send broadcast ARP to PE and PE will send to other PEs n then intended customer will reply? HOW PE --CE flood n learn is avoided in EVPN?
PE CE is data plane learning via ARP PE to PE control plane learning.
@@Ten-Dot-One how does it help ? Pe--ce is data plane learning then arp broadcast sent to all pes? Same as traditional thing. Or pe has some mechanism to look at dest ip address and reply to hosts?
video is very informative get rid of background music to make it even better.
Hi, in Symmetric routing, in step 3 when traffic from VTEP1 to VTEP2, i believe the VNI must be L3VNI instead of L2VNI-20 right?
Depends on symmetric or asymmetric
@@Ten-Dot-One I want to ask about symmetric routing at around 15m in video. Moreover, at that time, inner SMAC and DMAC are system MAC of VTEPs, so how does a VTEP known system MAC of remote VTEPs?
@@TrungHiếuLê-p9r Remote VTEP will advertise that info via Type -2 route (Router MAC extended community)
Thanks!
I think you should continue this tutorial. Better if you start with using Golang. Thanks
These are good videos thanks. Also can you please let know what are the reference documents used
really very good content being covered.
RT5 flew right above, a packet flow would have been really helpful.
Let me know what you want
Also you mistakenly told that the ESR will be shared and then a timer of 3 seconds will initiate, I believe you wanted to say that AD is shared and thus they discovered each other, post which the ESRs are shared and then the order list and then the DF selection takes place. Please correct me if I am wrong.
In case of VXLAN, when an NDF forwards the BUM traffic to the DF on the same ethernet segment, the DF should block it using the local bias (looking at the source tunnel ip), identifies the ESI, there is a mistake in reading. For MPLS, there is an ESI label which when the DF gets, it understands that this packet belongs to this ES, not sure what IMET label does here? Kindly clarify.
We talked about various features in this EVPN need for DCI, mostly what I could capture is again back to BGP control plane to prevent storm in the data plane, rest of the communities discussed along with IRB usage and how the multihoming scenario is used, kindly help us with labs taking the legacy DC vs EVPN DC.
Is this series over or are there more videos?
Let me know if you want further videos
great video!
Thanks!
Did you do the video on how to implement VPWS by any chance? Great explanation!
I will do it sooner
excellent presentation. Thank you so much.
Amazing
Can we connect on LinkedIn?
Sure
Yes your content and animation is excellent but unable to listen properly due to background music
For all 3 different https application at receiver end will destination port remain same??
Yes, source port will be different
You dont need the music in the background. it is distracting
Thanks! I wrote my code and every tutorial shows to send payload as dict, I lost 4h looking for solution until I watched your video and changed payload dict to string as on your video. I was really close to madness, once again thanks.
Thank you
Didn't understand this question: If mac addresses are learnt by a single LEAF/PE, how a remote leaf able to load balance towards multiple leafs? I believe we are talking about single active here right?? Can you clarify with the diagram example?
I will clarify in my next video.
Annoying background music.
what's up with that annoying background music?
We will get it rectified sooner
Great explanation!
Awesome explanation. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
nice video! thanks
Thank you for the clear and succinct explanation.
Excellent explanation, I am curious if I could achieve ECMP with different L3VPNs(VRF) taking different paths.
What is the scenarios ?

is it possible to dynamically include the link latency to the algo?
Yes we can.
Came to learn evpn, left motivated to change the world
Better to include NOKIA cli as well Thanks
really good video, thank you
Ar 6:22, L1 sends flooding to L3 and L5. but how L1 know it has to send to L3 and L5, but not to L4 ? Is vxlan vni to vlan mapping is helping here ?
I believe it sends to all the remote PEs, only because the VNI/EVI do not match, the L2 and L4 discards it. Can you confirm @TenDotOne?
Can you drop the background music
We will get it done.
Awsome Presentation. Here at 5:06, there is label 400. from where this label is captured ? I mean are we configuring this explicitly ?
This is a capture in EVPN MPLS scenario. This label is generated automatically which is called ESI label in MPLS scenario only.
keep going 💪
In a bgp routing scenario, let's say you have two ISPs with Router1 for ISP1 as primary link and Router2 for ISP2 as secondary or backup link. One day primary ISP had problems of several packet loss until after an hour it became unusable, so you need to divert the link/traffic and switch to the secondary link or ISP2. How are you going to configure this using bgp, what specific attribute do you put in this command or config?
Do you have the write up of whatever you are speaking, it is very well defined, and it would be good to keep that write up for future
Sooner we will introduce blogs for every topic. You will get the details over there.
But I can not see properly in mobile, can you make it simple background
We will do it for sure. Adjust in laptop this time. Next we will take care of it. Hope you enjoyed the video.
please elaborate more on why we dont need GW for DCI?
