When we use 50 percent of maintenance fluid , can we use 10 percent dextrose normal saline.

For short period fluid administration for few hrs may not be needed especially if no hypoglycemia.but if child is expected to be on iv fluid for longer period or malnourished definitely can be offered d10 NS
