Front fog lights:- Take the feed, from the vehicles sidelights (parking lights). If installing a rear (red) fog light:- Earth the lamp. Run a wire from the rear fog lamp to a point on the dashboard, where you will fit a 3-pole, yellow or orange illuminating switch. (The colour of this pilot light is to notify you when the rear fog light is on). Join this wire to the "ACC" pole of the switch. Earth the switch via its ground pole. The "feed" for the rear fog light, is taken from either the cars sidelights (parking lights), or front fog light positive, if the car is so equipped. Mount the rear fog lamp at the rear, anywhere from the centre,- out towards the driver edge of the vehicle, and do NOT mount the rear fog lamp within 100mm/10cm of any brake light; to avoid masking of the brake light! A single rear fog lamp is fine for most vehicles, if you mount two, they must be spaced equally apart, but again, 100mm/10cm from any brake light. On cars, mount the lamp not higher than 1.0m above ground level. Use the rear fog lamp (red), only in seriously reduced visibility conditions, when visibility falls to less than 100m. Switch it off, the moment visibility improves.
most cars would shit there self canbus wouldnt have any of it piggy backing of sidelights you have to use a relay and provide power from something els 👍
Jeremy, can you help me with the right kit to buy? Toyota is making this a biggg deal. I don’t know why they even sell a pu without fog lights or the wiring harness.
