The real issue was loosing test series to Aus n then getting whitewashed by Eng at home. The panic button should've been pressed there and then. This debacle was expected. Loosing test at home is the real sign of a team going down...not loosing in T20s 🤦♂️
Why do you have to press any button only when you fail? Considering all inside know its a recipe of failure, then why to wait for the failure to happen and then change things

First class cricket, quaid e azam trophy, fitness tests is where you select player on merit. You have unfit players in team, people in team due to friendship not merit for last few years. No bench strength to avoid merit.

To answer your question you don't have to make a player play for your national team to test if he is a good player, coach knows it thru the above process I told u which is not followed

India mein Mohd. Shami form mein hone ke bawajood Yo Yo Test margin se fail karta hai aur team mein select nahi hota. 15 din mein apni fitness mein work kar ke dubara YoYo Test clear kr ke fir England mein England series ke liye selection hua.
Asli mudda aap logo ki team mein sifarishi aur senseless selection hai. New Players ke development pe koi tawajjo nahi dete hai.. Jo bhi senior level tak pahunchta hai toh apne natural talent ki wajah se pahunchta hai magar upar sifarishi jagah leke baithe huye hote hai toh woh log radar se bahir ho jate hai, doosre mulk chale jate hai...
