A lot of Godspeed You! Black Emperor songs when they crescendo it’s just like that this is a solid one for sure but another good one is if my memory serves me right about 5 to 7 minutes into Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven. It’s 20 minutes of drull for the best 50 seconds ever recorded.
now I see it... I thought the javanese gamelan mimics only on the intro guitar, glockenspiel and the violin. but now I recognize that the harmonic screeching guitar part in the last segment of the first movement also do sound exactly like angklung
Absolutely looove this one. One of Godspeed’s more underrated and underappreciated tracks for sure, they’ve only played this one live 10 times that I know of!
I absolutely agree! Wow that's crazy, now that you mention it I looked on setlist.fm and not only have they performed it live a mere 10 times like you said, but they haven't done so since Allelujah! Don't Bend! Ascend! was released. Why do you think that is? I mean I thought they'd at least perform it a bunch around 2012-2013 to promote their newest album at the time, although I'm glad they still perform Mladic because it's one of my favourites
@@KRB_Drummer I imagine it was a very hard song for them to play, just based off a few things, and now also since Bruce is no longer in the band it’s probably even more difficult to play without the cymbals he uses. Tim Herzog is a great drummer for sure, and I think he definitely would be able to play this song, though I feel they just don’t really want to play this one anymore, because it was already kind of a hassle to play anyway. But oh well, Mladic is indeed a great song and I was lucky enough to hear both it and Gathering Storm, another one of my favorites at their Winnipeg show last March. Will never forget it.
Yeah that totally makes sense! I always loved the cymbal sounds in this song. Oh man that sounds like it was a great show! I can't wait to see them again, hopefully one day soon
Thank you so much! I'd love to see them play this one live one day. Just visited Montreal for the first time last month to see Godspeed perform. What an extraordinary and beautiful city!
Superb! I enjoyed the video very much. This is one of my all time favs and you made it look so easy, although it's a killer song. Keep up with the good work! Now i'm off to see more of your videos. Cheers!

Good job, you nailed it! The last movement was especially well done
I truly and fully believe 13:19 is one of the best pieces of music EVER recorded

That's so cool! It's such an amazing song, I wonder if they'll ever perform it live again
This is the closest thing i'll get to see someone play this song rather than the studio version. You nailed it!
Nice cover mate, keep up the good work.
