With the frame you make it the width you desire. You make the rolls and also the handle. The rolls are made from 1/2" electrical conduit, about $3.00 at a Home Depot and 1"" dia PVC pipe about $4.00 per 10'-0 length. Since you need table width to move the frame I like to stay with a width of 60", The frame is best for smaller quilts, I sell these from my blog machine-quilt-frames.blogspot.com/

And the ball bearings, and the ratchet system, and someone doing the engineering, testing, etc.? Come on, this is so inexpensive, give the guy a break.
I would pay for it because he created this concept. It's true the materials aren't that expensive. But that is true of most things we buy. The raw materials aren't that expensive but his plans are worth something too.
