The piece that you said that will end up in the bottom of your toolbox that piece is for if you ever take the wheelie bar off it goes into place of the wheelie bar to support it
Ah gotcha!! I appreciate the heads-up on that! Maybe the wheelie bar will end up in the bottom instead 😆
Xmaxx is a beast. I have an upgraded Xmaxx that I've been beating up for like 5 years. Mine does double backflips like a 1/10 truck because I run giant electronics and tires 😂. Great bash!
I appreciate it man! It's one of my favorites!
That body is on another level .
Agreed! I love it so much!
@@HumlsHobbies I'm getting a body for sure
Not gonna lie, when a grown man gets a decal/sticker pack, thats what we are really excited for. LMAO
💯 😆 I've already used most of that sticker sheet 😆
I'm a fixed wing & quadcopter rc'r and this is my first ground vehicle in ages.
I actually got it with my 5 yr old grandson in mind, thinking if he was into it I'd get another & build a track at home.
But then I drove it and realized how foolish a notion that was, even in training mode.
I havnt began to learn the many reasons to hate the traxxas vehicles yet, but the hobby shop seems to have every replacement part for them in stock and little to none for other available rtr brands.
Also, I'm amazed that so many folks seem to want to go faster than the blistering speed I'm seeing bone stock lol.
I have 2 acres of yard at home to run on and about maybe 800' of slightly curved (visible from 1 spot) street that sees no traffic to run on and still the thing is out of sight or gets too close to obstructions to hold the max speed for more than a couple seconds.
So, I went back Sunday and bought another truck more suited, hopefully for the grandson.
It's a trx-4 with switchable 4wd & 2 spd transmission and is at the other end of the speed spectrum for sure.
These electrics have come a long way since I last ran wheeled rc.
I only ever ran nitro trucks 15-20 yrs ago.
I do hate the traxxas proprietary battery situation and will absolutely be changing the leads to run standard 6s single packs.
Cheers
Yeah, for the size of this truck, once it gets up to speed, it can be kinda scary, lol. I've been hit by rc cars before, but I'm honestly nervous about getting hit with this one! The trx4 will be an awesome truck for your grandson! It's got the best of both worlds. You can crawl or bash. I ran nitro 20 years ago as well. It was crazy fun, but keeping them running in the climate I'm in was sometimes a pain. With lipo batteries, they made electric just as fun and a lot easier! Thanks for watching!
I will say outside of soldering connectors the traxxas cars I have are great to drive. Even my super cheap 2wd slash has been steady for years now. Terrible crashes with almost no breaks even on 4s brushless…. No xmaxx yet but I can’t wait to get one soon
Had a blast running these big rigs!
Can't wait to do it again!!
TQI stands for Top Quality Irony
Lmao 🤣
Yours has the self removing body feature like mine! In a crash it automatically seperates from the chassis to ensure the driver gets plenty of exercise chasing it around putting out back on. Every time i drive mine I'm reminded of how much i like Arrma and appreciate simple body clips that keep the body on.
Agreed! My regular Maxx was just as bad 😆. I wish Proline would make the screw on cap mounts for this truck!
What’s your thoughts on the XRT? Thanks.
The Xrt is amazing! It handles really well compared to the Xmaxx. It's definitely better as far as racing on a track. However if your looking for something to do jumps and hit ramps with the Xmaxx is the way to go.
Just curious, why not the XMaxx ULTIMATE? How’s it going thus far? Broken anything or burned up any electronics? Thanks for your time. Stay safe and enjoy! 😎👍🏼
Honestly with big heavy bashers like the Xmaxx I like to stick with plastic parts for the type of bashing I do. They flex and have give to them. Once the metal parts tend to warp more after heavy use. I haven't burned up any electronics yet. The only real headache I've had was I stripped 3 sets of gears. However I figured out that the pinion gear was coming loose. I used Red thread Locke on it and it's been good ever since! Thanks for watching!
@@HumlsHobbies Cool. Which gear setup are you running now? Thanks.

My favorite!
Cool video. Love the X Maxx and XRT.
Thanks man!! I'm so happy with the Xmaxx so far! Waiting for my new hardened gears to come in. Looking forward to making more videos with it! Would love to get an XRT at some point as well!
@@HumlsHobbies Does Traxxas manufacture these "hardened gears"? If not where can I get some? Link?
@dub2536 I got them off ebay but I'm betting they are traxxas brand.

Oh that body is 🔥🔥🔥 and it comes with belted tires? We don't have that in the UK yet
Yeah, I loved the sledgehammer tires on my regular maxx. The body is what finally made me pull the trigger on getting one!
definitely get the steel spur and pinion
Just came in today, actually! Can't wait to get the Xmaxx up and running again!
Fun video but right around the 10 minutes mark, a bug begins to hang in front of the camera lens. I think you should have edited that out. Again, otherwise a fun video.
Yeah, that was mud from when I hit the puddle. I tried to zoom in with my editor on some parts to hide it, but it didn't work too well. Lol.
Next time turn the wind down first lmao jk … I’d be happy to drive one one day
The funny part is I actually used a filter on my editor to dull down the wind sound. Before that, I almost scrapped the video because you couldn't hear me talking, lol! Wish you lived closer because I would gladly let you take it for a rip!
