I used to run Black Box LED and they work fine. I realize, i still have to replace them once every few years because they change spectrum over time. So imagine having a light set up costing thousands of dollars. I guess thats called business. Now I run 10,000K Metal Halides in my tank to try it, looks like im snorkeling on shallow water. And I noticed corals are much more fuller health wise and color wise compared from my LED. Plus with powerful LED plus extra supplemental LED now a days, they are getting to the same power consumption on Metal Halides. And if you run LED on max, your going to replace those sooner too. But hey multiple ways to run a reef tank. I have videos in my channel to show proof.

Halide lighting is still number 1 and unbeatable in growth and health, its just the cons that make led and t5 preferred nowadays. If you can deal with the heat and cost to run its a no Brainer especially paired with some ai prime blades or t5

I find if you need to add T5 to allready very exspensive LEDs lights maybe T5 should have never stopped being used

There is no "best". The "best" light is putting it back out in the Pacific and letting the sun do the work.
All three lighting technologies will grow coral, it's irrefutable at this point. Whichever type you prefer is on you, it simply a preference. The rest of us can agree or disagree as we see fit.
As for "trust". The profession marine biologists in coral restoration of the Florida reef track aren't using T5 or Halide in their labs and farms. They're using LED's to create captives coral spawning, which creates new generations to be replanted in the wild. Just some food for thought.

@Dusk194 yea well ive tried leds so i say from first hand experience that halides are better then leds no adjustment needed and i didnt see that much of a light bill difference

Fact: you will grown any coral by use all color channel as the same rate and adjust that rate for good par. Only need on off cylce, dont need any fancy program. Use led such as a metal halide and you will win
