- Are you tired of hunting bourbon? Everything seems to be hard to find these days so instead of searching for extremely allocated bourbon we give you a handful of alternative whiskeys that you can probably find and buy instead of overpaying for allocated whiskey.

Bardstown Disco 11, KC 12 and ET BIB all day everyday 🤘🏻
Found JD Rye in my local grocery store for $51.99 ,what a score!!!
There every where only during the spring
That’s less than MSRP. Lol
Barrel proof?
That's a hell of a deal! I still can't find one for less than $70
You paid what it is worth. $50.
It is both funny and sad that It is cheaper to commit a misdemeanor stealing a bottle than getting one from one on the secondary. Well... I might actually be able to get a Pappy 23 after all. Thanks for the pro tip guys.
Sean's back on the ET BiB train! Let's go! 🤘🤣🥃
Thank you for these kind of videos. For some of us just starting into bourbon, this is very helpful.
That JDSBBP Rye was probably my favorite new whiskey I picked up last year. Incredible stuff
Great video. Thanks so much for the alternatives.
I randomly walked into a Total Wine and they had a bunch of allocated stuff for sale limit 1. Every bottle was MSRP and they had OF 1924, EHT smb, Eagle Rare, Caribou Crossing, 1792 BIB, 1792 FP, and Weller SR 750 & 1.75. The only one of those I didn't own was a Caribou and for $50 I figured I'd buy one just to have it. Then I realized it was limit 1... per bottle. I'm not big on Sazerac products but at MSRP I figured I can add a backup bottle or give away some bottles to friends. Went ahead and added an EHT and ER to the cart and was checking out... asked how many 1924s they had and they said that was the last one. Fine, add it to the cart.
Kinda crazy that that is considered a big score when it's 2 bottom shelfers, 1 Canadian whiskey, and one new release. 5-6 years ago the 3 Sazerac bottles would just be sitting there for anyone to buy every day of the week.
Also... WTF Total Wine. I've visited that location about 75 times over the past year and they never have anything. Then randomly they put out 7 allocated bottles on the same day. You know they get TONS of Sazerac given their total sales but you never see it.
Complain to corporate in Maryland.
I pretty much love everything Sagamore puts out. The 8 year rye and Sherry finish last year were just spectacular
I have sag sherry and double oak. Not a fan. They are def quality whiskeys, but they both have this brightness note thats really off putting to me.
@@jacksmith2315
To each their own. That's what makes whiskey tasting so great
That 8 year rye is great. I haven’t found many that are better for my palate.
I'm admittedly a frug... and I've enjoyed most every recommendation you've made. Love the channel!
Yay! They reviewed my bottle!!
I appreciate y'all keeping us up to date on the quality improvement of Early Times BiB. I've been disappointed in my last 2 handles of WT101 and have been looking for a replacement.
I’m a huge fan of benchmark products. Just bought my first bottle of Top Floor and I’ve really enjoy it
Try the bonded too! You won't be disappointed!
KC 12 is my go to bottle lately. Love it.
Glad you mentioned they sell shirts without graphics.
Proud "frug", but I'll still try to pick up a bottle of 1924.
Nice video! The JD SBBP Rye is generally unavailable in Northern California; so replacing Michter's Barrel Strength with it is not an option. I would have rather suggested an Old Forrester SiB Rye. More likely than not, it's the same mashbill as Michter's
Picked up a JD10 batch 3 and it’s delicious. Favorite of the year so far.
Shout out to the Rosswille Union barrel strength rye. Just found it, so good.
So good! Just picked one up myself. I got it for half off so it was 35 I think and it’s 7yr BP MGP rye. Can’t go wrong.
I have a buddy sitting at High West right now and he is sipping the MWND 11 … we both agree that at the old price we’d buy it in a heartbeat … now not so much. High West used to be a distillery I would rah rah rah … these days it’s become nah nah nah
Can’t find MWND on shelves here in VA but I stopped in a couple MD stores last month and saw it sitting for no less than $225! Good luck with that!
Disco #11 is great, so I got a backup. I liked the JD Bonded but I sure hope that the couple bottles of JD10 that I picked up are significantly better. Love the JDSBBP Rye, snagged a couple at msrp. My ET BiB is a nice daily sipper.
Nice work gents. Agree with these and love the explanation for the EHT SmB. Also, the frugs is perfect haha Cheers!
Sagamore port is also Maryland only with the last 2 releases
I was going to say that one is difficult to find if you don’t live there or have a friend there. That’s harder for me to find than the MWND. There are places by me that still have it!
ET is @21 here 1L. wt101 is still $21 too. midsummer was around $140 a few weeks ago. she gone. we dont have any fancy benchmarks here in CO
I have the fusion 7 and I love it. Almost grabbed the 9 tonight. I have the bonded JD is the bonded close to 12? I just picked up the Sagamore double oak OMG so good. Ugh I need a JD SB RYE.... I haven't seen ethere early times or of 1924.
Happy to see the Early Times BIB "SOUL CRUSHER" bottle making another appearance :)
Great seeing Sean backing Early Times BiB again. First couple years were rough for that bottle post buyout, but recently the blending has improved so much, like 95% of the way back to greatness. Hoping that the Sazerac distillate keeps up the pace, and that they release a cask strength sometime in the near future
If you find a good bottle, snag a backup.
@@robertlee6781 oh, I bought a case from the same shipment my great bottle came from. I'm a bottle into that, and so far so good
Very nice guys, especially for those of us on a budget! Thanks!!
Now if I could only find ET in Ohio...
Love your vids. You guys play off each other very well.
You guys are so funny, love this channel, you guys remind me of me when I was your age. Keep sipping.
I'm with you guys on the Series 11, JD BP RYE, Probably on the Sagamore Port (I had Sherry Rye and other Sagamore products)..and in a pinch the Knob 12yr. The rest is waaay iffy.
I live in the Nashville, TN area. My brother (Pinconning, MI) is coming for a visit in 2 weeks and I am taking him to Jack Daniels Distillery for a tour and tasting, Mary Bobo's for lunch. Based on availability, what should I buy from the JD store?
The duty free travel exclusive bonded jack is the BOMB, and comes in a 1 liter
GREAT INFO GUYS
How do you both feel about the standard michter's rye?
Some of these subs are hard to find in my area that’s why I just stick with the bottles I can find. WT KC OF. Are always on the shelf and aren’t expensive.
Great video good to know fellas
Currently sipping Benchmark Small Batch. Now I wish I would've tried the Top Floor. How do they compare?
Never seen Sagamore Port in my area, but had more than enough opportunity to get MWND.
Great video gents! Question, do you guys think JD 10 is a better value then JD 12? Or is one much better than the other?
Yes. Having the Jack Bonded and J10, J10 is a LOT like the bonded. Def agree w that one. 🥃🥃
JD Batch 3?
Love the channel , wish you guys were closer so I could come check out the whiskey ?? But bama ain’t close to Michigan….. please keep up the GREAT content !
I'm on Team Fruges! KC 12 yr is so good.
Since BT is using a new distributor, I’m starting to see EH Taylor small batch in quite a few places here in California. Seems like prices are starting to come down a little and the places still with huge mark up can’t sell the stuff.
What bottle do I need to get in Lexington,Distillery only ?
Glad to hear the newer Early Times bonded are slowly merging back to the common taste. That was a forever bottle for me when Brown Forman owned it. Glad it's not entirely going to sh*t with Sazerac owning it now
Just scored a JD 10 yesterday at a local drop in VA. Had no idea I just scored that hard😊
My bottle of Top Floor was pretty crappy, had to banish it to only being a mixer. I'm down with the Full Proof though.
John J Bowman single barrel was the move instead of EHT... but now its getting harder to find even in VA
John J Bowman is all over Maryland depending on what part of Va you're in
Wild Turkey is high rye. If you can't find Russell's Reserve 13, buy Kentucky Spirit or Russell's Reserve 10. Bardstown Bourbon Series #11 is about $140 a bottle if you can get it.
ET BIB 1L bottles can be found for $14.99 here in Tampa and go as low as $12
Effing Walmart near me just had all the BTAC last Friday. At MSRP. And I missed it😢.
Is there a good resource for what “retail” should be? I am a $60-$80 bottle person - I don’t mind spending a little for something good. $100 + is a little crazy for me (no judgement of anyone else), so I appreciate this list and similar videos you have done. Just wish there was an easy comprehensive guide to spotting a good deal.
The last few months I have seen more bottles of OF 1924 on the shelves than I have Early Times BiB.
Would Coopers Craft be a good 1924 substitute?
Damn. Cant even find the replacements, 😭 want that bardstown
Can’t get John J Bowman in Oregon, which is a bummer. Otherwise, I would’ve tried it. Hoping to get a bottle while on a vacation road trip.
Find it everywhere? I go to a lot of liquor stores, have yet to see Discover 11 in multiple states.
I don’t understand the Russel’s 13 distribution. Arkansas and Missouri received another round of batch five about three weeks ago. Needless to say I picked up two bottles within a 10 day span
Love lists like these but can’t find Sagamore Port cask finish and Jack Daniel’s BP rye …😢😢
Southwest Georgia here, Benchmark lineup doesn't exist here. You can find the standard bottle but none of the others.
There’s still Jack 10 year in my area for $99 and I bought 2
PA cleared out their KC12 last month for 1/2 price. Everybody loaded up.
I've been looking for Sagamore Port for 2 years...nada unless you want to pay $300 secondary. MWND is all over the place though if you're willing to cough up $150 for it.
so hey, whats the deal with the GLADIATOR supporter bottles?
I get KC 12 anytime I find it. great price.
@9:48, JDSBBPR is a Tennessee rye lol
I love early times so much. Passed on 1924 several times because of the poor reviews and mostly because the price but I regret not getting one after the ET comparison
wish we could find disco 11 here in texas :(
Knob 12 and 1924 are both very good, but as far as bourbon goes, pretty different tasting.
Have you guys tried ABERLOUR Speyside single Malt Scotch? First time I tried it a week ago, and it is the smoothest Scotch I have personally ever had.
I am a frug and I 100% agree with the Early times call.
Midwinter Act 11 cost was $120 in MD, so retail was already above $150 and pretty sure the KC 12 was over $50 cost, so well above $60 on the shelf. ATM, KC 12 isn't even available in MD. Same can be said of ET BIB and Benchmark.
Jeremey’s the greatest. Hell yeah.
I’ve still have not seen a jack Daniels single barrel barrel proof reg or rye.
i couldn't help but laugh at the 1924/early times comparison cause I've never seen either of those bottles in person in San Diego lol
I like that you guys have different palates. Frogs would be a better name 😂😂
Have you guys ever had Stagg jr batch 6?
I love the channel but I was shocked to see Jack Daniel’s Bonded and an alternative to the 10 Year Jack. In your video of “Every Jack Daniel’s Whiskey Ranked?”, your ratings were the following:
#11 Triple Mash
#10 Gentleman Jack
#9 Old No 7
#8 Bonded
#7 Bottle in Bond
#6 No 27 Maple Wood Finished
#5 Single Barrel Select
#4 10 Year
#3 Single Barrel Barrel Proof
#2 12 Year
#1 Coy Hill
I assume that the Bonded version was rated too low before.
I live in VA and your first two alternatives are just as unobtainable as RR13 or EHT lol
I don’t know, I picked up a benchmark top floor and I was disappointed. I am not a fan of the finish, I get a peas note there that I just do not like. I’m hoping after it opens up a lil it’s better.
Are you guys in Central MI?
How have I never noticed the phallic shaped bottle behind dans head?
Saw my first OF 1924 the other day, 225 big ones. I'd take 9 ET BiB or 3 KC12 over that just from an economy standpoint. Go Frooogs!
Dang, I lucked out on 1924 then! Got mine a month ago, on the shelf with the rest of the OF for $78. And the hunting around here isn't great, never see much sought after bottles.
Can't find ET BiB anywhere, except one store that wanted $80.
My local store just got the 1924s and mandated I buy either premium old Forester or a premium JD...they had JD SBBP Rye for $67.99...no brainier.
I feel like a lot of the Weller and BT products are a buy once and then decide your threshold. I just picked up an OWA for $150 and am content.
(In Florida)...bought EHT BiB, from a large retailer, about 9 months ago for $100. They just received another 6 or so bottles. They are CURRENTLY selling them for $200/bottle. This is criminal.
JD single barrel rye is way harder to get then mitchers barrel strength rye across the pond. Just an information though
I have 3 bottles of the black cap Early times. I can’t bring myself to drink them.
Living in OR where distro is horrible Im just screwed with all of these not existing lol
In my review of OF1924 I actually had KC12 beat it easily I’ve noticed a lot of variation in KC12 bottles so if you get a fantastic one it could beat OF1924. Also the bottle of sagamore port you showed is thr first one way back when the more recent 2022 and 2023 batches were even better the rye was aged longer and the finishing time in port was longer as well no mwnd since like 9 comes close to what sagamore is putting out
Totally missed it with the Benchmark.
That nose on the 1924 and the subtle nose is great on it. Early Times and 1924 is the only bad comparison imho.
In my area (Boston) the only Benchmark we get is the No. 8. I see the full proof and top floor in lots of videos all the time and I become upset.
I hate the standard Benchmark so much that I haven’t tried the new expressions even though they are only like $15. I just can’t bring myself to do it
Didn’t hear incorrectly or did you say JD rye is a Kentucky rye?
I LOOOOOOOVE me some Early Times!!
So you replaced an unfindable bottle with an unfindable bottle? Pretty good market where I'm at and never seen a JD BP Rye.
No shade, hopefully they expand distribution of those as much as they originally said they would. Love the JD Rye.
I’m such I get it 5 bottle for the price of one really good one
