Oh my goodness this is beautiful! We spent many happy sunny days as children on the beach at Myrtleville as we spent almost every summer in Fennell's Bay.My Mum and grandparents spent summer days in Myrtleville too as they had a little bungalow there. We are all scattered in various ways now. Many thanks for this.
Thanks for posting Gary. My family used to stay at Cooneys field every year(from Dublin), until we moved to Carrigaline. When we were in Carrigaline I can remember cycling to Myrtleville. There used to be a small shop on the left hand side as you went towards the beach, the most important shop as it sold sweets, Fizzy drinks and ice creams. The important stuff.
Thanks for your vid clips it brings back many great memories as I and all my family spent every summer there from the old farm house on top of the hill
Hello Garry Michael and I were delighted to meet you in Myrtleville last week. Thank you for sharing this with us, we have just watched it again. We loved Ireland and are already making plans to go back. All the best Liz and Michael
Takes me back my youth in the 1940s! Poking for crabs in the rock holes exposed, at very low tide, below 'Bunnyconnellan Hotel' and selling them there for ice cream!! Earlier called 'Mirmar Hotel' when I first went there. The choice of background music is perfect. Thank you for the emotional response & the memories.
Greetings Friend, I watched your video beginning to end and it stirred the nostalgia of a truly wonderful place of memories. Lucky your family to have a line of memories reaching back through your history in the place that you love so well. Thank you for sharing.
wonderfull video it brought back so many happy memories thank you so much for posting it i spent my summers there in our house in cooneys field thanks again.
I love your video, absolutely beautiful! I was first shown it by Mrs. (Bernadette) Finnegan who owns the big white square house overlooking the beach. She and her husband spend part of the year here, and part of it in Victoria BC, Canada. She found it by accident when feeling homesick for Myrtleville. I've passed it on to lots of people since then, and everyone has had a very emotional response to it. I feel very lucky to live in Myrtleville and your video makes me appreciate it even more!
Lovely video , whilst we spent our times in Church Bay , we would explore everywhere from Myrtleville , Fountainstown , Graball and Camden. Its a magical place for me.
Love this video, thanks so much for posting. Spent magical summers in Myrtleville through my childhood in the 70s and 80s in Ballinluska House(the old coastguard house) which was owned by my fantastic charismatic uncle through marraige Mr John Long. I get a feeling of warmth as I watch your video remembering walking along the beach, climbing the rocks with my cousins and spending sunshine filled hours in the scenic gardens of Ballinluska. The exploring we did and the games we played will stay with me forever and the memories have been reignited by your fantastic video. Thank you 😊
Such lovely memories Gary. For a moment there I was back on that beach, playing in the water and enjoying the sunshine. Your musical choice was simply perfect. Thanks so much for putting this up on youtube for us all to enjoy I will most definitely watch again and again.
Beautiful music on video. Part of the melody was used in the song "All By Myself". I love Myrtleville, and the nearby Bunnyconnellan Restaurant. I used to spend summers as a teenager in nearby Fennells Bay, and used to visit Bunnys in the evenings.
Very much enjoyed your Myrtleville video Mr. Crowley. I spent many wonderful summers there (1970's-80's) at my families Ballinluska House (Coastguard Station). In my youth had a pen pal named Kieran Crowley?...any relation?
