A beautiful evocative film Pat, well done. It brought back so many memories, my grandfather built a bungalow on the Camden Road in the 1920's and we spent every August in Crosser. Spending our days down at "the pipes", fishing for crabs and rock fish or for mackerel when the word went out - "the mackerel are in". Then down to the merries with a shilling in our pockets, and trying (though not always managing it) to keep enough for a 4 penny bag of chips in Peggys chipper to eat on the way home. The annual trip on Captain Babcocks Lady Mary out to see the liners and a trip over to Cobh to watch the fireworks will stay with me forever. Happy days, thanks for documenting them so well.

My husband, when younger, used to be in the slua mari. That's where he got the love of sailing.

Hi, my brother Jim is the Irish speaker. There would be trad singers then and now. Don't know how many. Not sure if you mean sean-nós singing. Thank you for your interest.

Is cuimhin liom an Lady Mary agus Captain Sid. Uair amháin so 1970s, chuamar ar turas ó mBun an Tábhairne go dtí an Cóbh uirthi. Bhí mo mháthair ag tasiteal linn agus beagáinín eagla uirthi mar ní raibh sí in ann snámh. Buíochas le Dia, bhí lá taitneamhach againn.
Go raibh maith agat don scannán

Thank you for your compliments. My brother Jim is the Irish speaker. However, I did understand without having to translate. Go raibh mile faith agat.
