Awesome design and great video! Like the way you don't spare the welding and furnish top quality materials and workmanship. 2 thumbs up from here. Proudly MADE IN THE USA! Work safe, stay warm, see ya on the next 1 Doug@ the "ranch"
preheat is a plus but most generally not a necessity. we run regular mig wire for non stress areas and a high nickel rod for areas if high stress content. hope that helps.
Is it possible to get your cut list for these materials? And what all you used. I work in the shop for structural iron work. So I can do it all at work.😁 would like to get 1 built asap
Man sorry cut list isn't something I give out. This design with sizes is mine and I can't be cutting myself like that. 😉 there are lots of designs available online though.
Too many variables and not a very good question to ask. Every machine is different, even if it's the same brand and model, personal technique will obviously different, you're gonna have to study and practice and then you'll get the answer you're looking for. Although I can give you some basic tips to get you going, you using a MIG(wire feed)?
@@shootersoptiontargets man I'm sorry I had to. My sense of humor being what it is! Just think of it like this if I wouldn't have said it was somebody else would have and I don't mind taking the Heat
No issues with it... it is just a smoother transition in the target itself. No sharp corners to hinder the target progress. The round bar is superior to a flat plate and round circle.
I see trees that had a little hump on the tube where the the paddles have to hope over. Those will hold the paddles on either side without being able to just swing backwards and sit there not facing you. Other than that, strong built. Will follow this one with the addition of the hump.
WAYYY OVERKILL. NOT A PROBLEM JUST WAY MORE METAL AND CUTTING AND WELDING AND .... ETC. THAN NECESSARY. I KNOW IVE BUILT LIKE 10 TO DATE. BUT GOOD JOB EITHER WAY
this is awesome. im starting to weld up my own target stands for the range. i have a playlist of finished projects that ive worked on th-cam.com/play/PLEduI17XtbgUI4OfaadFsF8jC4MUyANPS.html thoughts and suggestions are welcome for improvements or ideas
I wouldn’t. It will cost more, and my guess would be that your bearings would be a weak point because they aren’t designed to take the impact from shooting. If you already made it, let me know how it worked out, you have me curious now!
You should forget the word everything. You say it and everything and use it and everything and over use it and everything…..so it gets in the way and everything. 😃
It's the day of welding, nice job.
Looks good! You're getting pretty fancy with your editing! I like it! Thanks for the video!
Thanks BurningDinosaurs, I keep working on this editing thing.
Excellent targets Junior, great job!
No such thing as overbuilt. I say built to last . Nice targets love the extra supports on the pipe.
great video thanks
Ya'll do fantastic work!
thanks
Hi they are very well made. Just wanted to know the size and thickness of the angle iron you used. Thanks for the great video.
Sweet. Do those flip back and forth properly and enough to be in constant use or do they need adjusting, to be flat to the shooter again?
It depends on what your shooting etc but they will flip back and forth consistently if there is enough power behind the shot.
@@shootersoptiontargets made mine and put a few hundred rounds at it yesterday. Worked good. Thanks!
3:52-4:20. Blue light lines are a trip. 🤯.
P.S. Nice tree's.
Great idea. Logger Wade better be getting his order in lol. Keep up the great videos
lol, yep. He hasen't seen this one yet but he needs this one for sure.
@@shootersoptiontargets just a idea to try when you do these videos put the price in it and you might sell a few that way

Thanks lakesideranch, keeping after things as much as we can.
How much does a tree light that weigh, I'm wondering ...
73lbs 10 oz
What kind of wire should you weld ar400 with? And ar500 as well, did you preheat anything? Im working on a backhoe bucket
preheat is a plus but most generally not a necessity. we run regular mig wire for non stress areas and a high nickel rod for areas if high stress content. hope that helps.
That should last for a long time. Good job on the video.
thanks B S

If u need a cut list , u can’t build it

I'm just getting into welding, been a shooter for a long time. I was wondering what your welding settings were on your machine.

Adam is correct there are just too many variables to give an answer.
@@shootersoptiontargets I've learned a lot since first posting this question a year ago. You are so right!
Turn your heat to 11 and adjust wire speed accordingly 👌. And by 11 I mean a little past wide open!
And everything.
Dang man that target looks like it might hold up to impact from a cannon. Nice video thanks for sharing
we like to build them to last, lol.
That is a bullet proof product line you got there!
LOL, I see what you did there.

What size pipe do you recommend for picot tube?
Why add the solid bar on the target. Why not cut the target in one piece. Is there a structural issue. Thanks
No issues with it... it is just a smoother transition in the target itself. No sharp corners to hinder the target progress. The round bar is superior to a flat plate and round circle.
@@shootersoptiontargets thank You. I really enjoy your videos

We have no issues with our paddles they swing all the way around and face you on the other side.
What did you paint them with? Powder coated?
Nope rattle can.
I don't have a welder. Trying to figure out how to attach the pipes to the angle iron. Any ideas?
You can run a bolt through the middle but you just run risk of the head getting shot being exposed.
Nice build. !st time watching your channel. New sub too!
Thanks so much for the sub!
Is there any difference between welding ar500 and regular mild steel?
I find it takes a little bit more heat to weld. also pay close attention to adding heat on exposed areas where the round will hit.
@@shootersoptiontargets Thanks for the tips.

If you want it to last more than one round of target shooting then you gonna need it overbuilt. If not go buy paper or cardboard.
What size square tubing is that on the base?
just 1" x 1" x 11ga
what angle of tilt is it on?
Maybe 10 degrees past center. Dosen't take very much angle to get the round deflection to move downward.

The music was nice 👌, not sure about your squared away singing voice.
Hey I have a great voice, wait maybe that's my inner voice I'm thinking of.
I didn’t see any signs. Clearly this is a paid actor. I’m not falling for it again. Haha!
Wish I could afford to hire an actor, I would probably hire that funny Russian guy!
Does he act also man that guy doesn’t shy from anything
I'm wanting to make my own tree but I was thinking about using bearings instead of just a tube.
I wouldn’t. It will cost more, and my guess would be that your bearings would be a weak point because they aren’t designed to take the impact from shooting. If you already made it, let me know how it worked out, you have me curious now!
