Her gramma also mentioned this in her memories, that if she released her chi she wouldn't be able to get hurt. So based on that I'm assuming her "Chi" is similar to the "Ki" in Dragon ball, it enhances the user's body defenses and offense attacks, meaning they are protected by an energy barrier that can do attacks and work as a shield. I nerd out, sorry. xD

After watching this ep on Netflix, I initially wanted to check out 1 or 2 chapters after this. But I ended up catching up to everything and got my 1st Dandadan Monday 2 days ago, lol 😂
after the first episode last week i definitivly could not wait and jumped to read the manga and needless to say i couldnt stop reading it... being now up to date with the newest chapter i am absolutely just obsessed with this whole thing through and through crazy visuals, story is just as crazy and the humor made me laugh out loud reading it which has not happend in a long time... and my favorite part? the romance isnt just a lot of clishes but refreshing relateability momo is no damsel in distress and ken actually learns and develops just chefs kiss
I just caught up as well. But I'm just surprised as to how many genres and tropes the author was able to put in but still make the story somewhat coherent 😂
I don't usually stick to watch the post-reaction ramblings, but for some reason you get me hooked into them every time lol Anyway, this is such a crazy show. Its silly, its funny, but there's a lot of deep themes behind it, and it gets better and better with time and the new characters that are introduced. Thanks for the reactions (:

At first I was a little worried about Okarun's VA choice. But the guy is doing really well. The range of difference between Okarun's normal voice, his Transformation voice, and his Possessed voice (with some added effects, of course) is amazing. And even Ayase's voice has its fluctuations. Because she's a bit cocky and short-tempered, when she's angry or arguing with someone, her voice changes a lot. It makes the scenes even more comical.

Do you know that the color is the way to differentiate whether it’s an alien or a spirit? According to the director of this anime, every spirits and aliens has it own color. They will use cold tones color for the aliens while warmer tones for the spirits. Just like specific color Red for Turbo Nanny, and she possesses on Ken hence Ken’s transformation has red on him. The sumo alien this episode has cold grey tone and the three aliens from ep1 have blue cold tones. Also, the director says they used warmer tones for spirits because the spirits in this manga, they protected humans on earth from the aliens, despite sometimes doing some evil deeds to human but they are closer to human, hence warm color tones for spirits.

I like to watch the Dub version right after because they say things differently than the translations in sub and sometimes it's better. Like when Ken transforms instead of saying yo after everything he's just talking in cool American slang....but hella emo
