I didn't know this existed until you mentioned it on IG and when I read "Sister Leveling" I thought "Oh, it's probably an abridged series that's incredibly inappropriate." and of course that's exactly what it is! 🤣
In the novel + webcomic this part about Jinwoo not knowing how game menu works → how the system works was an aspect to the story that was quite deeply explored (moreso in the novel). The one thing both have in common is Jinwoo trying to figure out how to check messages/notifications. In sister leveling they take that apart of the story into consideration and by speaking put loud "sister leveling" Jinwoo accidentally chose the sister route. So no, it wasn't the system that chose for him (although to be fair, the sister leveling script was already pre-determined)
I've been trying so hard NOT to suggest this, but you fell for it anyway. 🤣 This will forever change your solo levelling experience. Season 2 is more fun. The anime literally provides them with things to exploit....and they do. I love these guys.
Whoever made Sister Leveling is on the Hub looking at every single step sister trope and the cheesy dialogue. This is honestly a dub that I could live with. Reminds me of the goofy stuff VAs used to do back in the day to either make the scene more relatable or translated into English better so it didn't sound like stiff trash. It also reminds me of Ghost Stories and how they just pretty much made the entire dub abridged.
Some of their JJK and MHA shorts are top tier as well. Off the top of my head I can't recall if they have a compilation for those but they are quite wild.
