I think the problem is with "French stereotypes" is people only think of how people dress in Paris and designers in Paris. Jacquemus is a designer from the South of France and people dress VERY differently in the South than the people living in Paris. This dress is definitely not Parisian style if that is she was going for.
It can be but with a different body shape and distinct accessoirises. But clearly not the typic french style. But this dress is lovely. Some large pants with a long jacket to have an androgynous vibe would have been a better choice for her. And her hair attached. And the fact is : french style is not just how you look, but the attitude too.

Emily is obviously a gorgeous woman, I mean look at her ! However, this is not « French Touch » at all.
I’m from Paris and our style is very very simple: for hair we don’t do much except brushing them or doing a quick bun/ponytail (we tend to keep our hair natural). For makeup, we like to use just a few product: a bb cream/light concealer, blush, eyeliner (optional), mascara, tinted lip balm/ lipstick (but there’s a lot of us who don’t do all that or don’t do anything).For our outfit, we tend to wear classic pieces like a good coat (for exemple a trench coat or a parka), a cute blouse / long sleeved shirt, a pair of jeans, a good scarf and some sneakers/boots (+ a good perfume). We are simple women who usually don’t have much time in the morning to get ready (work/school) so that’s probably why we look so effortless, ahaha 😂
