I recognize that beautiful coast line you where cruising down, I have cruised it manytimes as my Grandparents used to live down that way. I am glad he got the HP he wanted. Thanks again for sharing
You could pulley the blower to whatever speed you like. And with the impeller RPM being a fair way off the head units max rating it was easy to convince yourself it just needed more speed. This is our first soiree with a procharger combo, but we definitely know better for next time 😉
Glad to hear you managed to find the missing power due to lifter preload. Can I ask how much did it have when it was holding the valves open and how much preload does it have now? What brand of lifters are in the engine? Looks like a mad ride now… Great job 👍🏻
They are a Crane hyd-roller lifter which call for 0.020-0.025" of lifter preload. The cylinders were inconsistent with a couple sitting at more than double that. Definitely something we regret not checking on reassembly now looking back... but the intention was to leave it as we thought was set by the engine builder.
@@TorqHub I appreciate your honesty on what the problem was. The reason I ask is I have a set of Crane Hydro Roller lifters in a 355 Holden. I was advised to set mine at 20-40 thou preload. Mine are at the lower end at about the 20-25 thou to and it revs up nicely. I know of another guy who used the same lifters as me and he had them set at 50-60 thou preload and it ran terrible, wouldn’t rev etc. Keep up the great videos. I can’t wait for your VH build.
Boys boys boys... didnt your dad ever teach you to check 3 times install once?! Bet ya wont do that again. Hope to pull up to ya in my cleveland powered XR one day 👍 awesome job to get it there
Hi Jarmo, this was a custom built carb by Wayne at Performance Carb Tuning, starting off with a Quickfuel 900cfm carb and then modified. The car has since made 789hp on the same dyno with dual needle and seat bowls added
Car hasn't been to the track yet Jeff. Owner has just about finished totally rewiring the car to hide engine bay wiring and prepare the car for Red Centre Nats in Sept
I highly doubt we'd be able to carry enough E85 on board to make it there mate, haha! She'll be trailered from Perth to Alice, but then we'll be putting a few kms on it when we're there, thats for sure!

Good to see everyone have a bit of a think about the problem, and a straight forward valve adjustment almost doubled the power .
Goes to show how important lifter pre load is, great results on a tuff Xy build good work guys!
Great result boys! What a nice cruiser that’s also capable of a good squirt. Now for that VH.
Well deserved lads!!! Solid build, enjoy it Mishka
What a difference!!!
Great work guys, amazing end result!!
Thanks mate! She's a ball tearer now that's for sure!
Yeah i must admit i was thinking 6psi from such a big blower did seem a bit fishy

Red hot on the tree haha 😂 best channel on TH-cam!! Keep up the great work boys 🤙🏽
RCN will be sick with that weapon to cruise around in
We need slips from mikes last quarter mile and the new times 🙂
You mean the one where it did a "high 12"? 🤣
I assume the XY is just built for cruising and Sunday drives
Awesome work👍
Good job guy's. What a beast

I see, I click 😤
Total madness, I will never do this to my xy fairmont v8
Just aswell there's no one twisting your arm mate 😅 Different strokes, for different folks 😉
Nice work lads, killer car. btw swap those green cans out for a bushchook
Thats usually a staple beverage in Mick's house. But we were all out. Had to settle for a Pale Ale from Wilson's 🤣
That’s sick man
How much timing are you pulling per pound of boost? On e85
From memory about 2 degrees per 3psi.
Torque numbers/rpm would tell us more than peak hp figures.
Unfortunately RPM signal output wasn't working on the dyno so we can't pin point those metrics on the graph, but it went to a peak of 6500rpm
@@TorqHub For 411 cubes, she revs!!
Fu#kn beast of a xy love it, even more now knowing its from wa 👌👌👍👍👍
West is best 👍🏻
Cant yor give the sett up on The carburator please.Wath are The carburator partnr .750whp are grate 👍👍🎊🎉

Is that still running a factory block?
World Products Man-O-War Block.
Nice
amazing that such a little assumption can remove so much horse
Unfortunately, yes! Almost double the power 😵
Mate if you are game put it up against my Captiva, dont like your chances though
Whoa whoa whoa... we dont want no smoke!
👍🏻👏🍺
It’s a nice bit of gear but I think your 8 sec 1/4 is a bit off XY falcon isn’t the lightest in the range !!!!
Wasnt our estimate mate. Was from very experienced tuners with alot of runs on the board!
@@TorqHub Fair call can’t wait for the video to come out !!!!
If he ever gets curious enough to go there haha
XY are lighter than most modern cars, and lighter than you think
@@SuperTambo69 I’ve owned 4 sedans and 2 utes I know exactly what they are both small block and big block variants :)>>>
How much toque.
Honestly can't remember the figure and don't want to quote a 'roundabout' number. But she's got a bunch!
