    Brilliant review and one of the best bike testers I've seen on TH-cam

    At first I thought this bike was named after the mine, but then I realized that, (like the mine,) it is named after the sword. If I owned this bike, I'd still be tempted to put a "Front Toward Enemy" decal on it.

      A matte OD green paint job + the decal would be even sweeter.

    hey i'm curious what size you would get if you would buy it? i'm 6'1'' and normaly ride around 500mm reach on my YT capra 2021 (XXL) seams like 520mm on the XL is huge. Did the large feel tight?

    • @TheLoamWolf
      @TheLoamWolf  ปีที่แล้ว

      We would go large, though I (Robert) at 6’2” typically ride bikes in the 475-490mm reach range due to myself proportions (short body) and preferences (more agile feel in tight terrain).

    Great descriptive review!
    High pivot still struggling with brake jack; pretty big tradeoff for those of us whose riding style isn't able to compensate

      Thanks Chris. Yes it's definitely a consideration that needs to be made!

    Very good looking bike, but were I to go with a high pivot bike, I would pick the new Devinci Spartan HP, more all rounder in general

    @theloamwolf what was the weight of the build you tested?

    • @TheLoamWolf
      @TheLoamWolf  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We messed up and didn't stick it on a scale. It didn't feel insanely heavy, would estimate around 36lbs for this build.

    My knees hurt just by looking at that seat tube angle 😬.
    Modern seat tube angles are great, but this thing looks way too steep

    • @TheLoamWolf
      @TheLoamWolf  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It seems to look steeper than it feels - it's upright for sure, but not to the point of being uncomfortable.

      If you’re pedaling flat trails, it’s not the seat tube’s problem :)

    Seems like the perfect candidate for one of those new freehub at the cranks things. Wouldn't that take out any drivetrain anti-squat?
    But really, claymore? Not really the kind of mine one looks for in a bike usually. If you had one you could say that bike is mine I suppose.

    • @TheLoamWolf
      @TheLoamWolf  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Anti Squat won't be affected by an Ochain/WRP ring since they engage when you pedal. The Pedal Kickback is what those devices aim to reduce or remove, but the idler pulley on high pivot bikes typically achieves the same, so they are unlikely to benefit.

    LMAO!! Love how they spin the anti-squat as being a positive for "maintaining bike geometry"....ROFL....classic bike industry move... Jim from R&D: so we just spent a year designing this awesome bike with amazing new suspension design that elongates to allow for a more stable stance..... oh, but the anti squat kinematics suck..*cough cough.
    Jeff from marketing: uh yeah, let us take it from here, we can fix that *Winks.
