I’m new to the channel so I’m not sure if somebody has already said something about it. But, I noticed that Xaden’s father is always called by “Fen Riorson” and at MANY epigraphs we see the “Unauthorized rider’s guide by Major AFENDRA” and it somehow stuck with me that Xaden’s daddy might actually be Afendra and people just call him Fen. It would be such a cool detail to the series, since he was part of some level of command of Navarre and the guide is the one who trully tell how things happen inside Basgiath, explaning why this version is unofficial by 2 different factors. Not that I think that this would be or come with huge impact to the storytelling but I love so much this ideia that I had!! ❤❤

Support for inntinnsic second signet. Violet is the best in her class at shielding and once she was able to keep them in place all the time she only left a spot open for her connection with Xaden. It would make sense that her signet manifested with the only mind she left herself open to and explains why she didn't hear other people's thoughts because she always kept her shields up. The two bonus Xaden POVs were given because he had his shield up and we wouldn't see his inntinnsic signet at work.
In my mind when I first read these two books violet to me is a first aid kit.(Symbolism wise for the Sorrengails). When you think of first aid kits, they are full of things you need to fix wounds, which is exactly what the Sorrengails are. Wounds no one knows how to fix. The first aid kit will obviously (wanting to help) will bandage up those wounds and all will be well, at first. Then more wounds will start to appear and of course the first aid kit will fix those wounds, but what happens when the first aid kit runs out of things to fix those wounds. At that point wanting is like a need, now it’s not I want to help. It’s a I NEED to help. It will replenish its bag at the cost of its self, but no one will realise since hey the first aid kit is still here, and it doesn’t get noticed when things aren’t in need of fixing. And the pattern continues, over, and over again until the first aid kit breaks. When I’m basically saying what I’ve seen is that Violet is this to her family, sure they love her and understand her on a physical level. But they don’t understand her on an emotional level, often ignoring her (which we saw in iron flame) until she makes her self known, and from Brennans reaction this isn’t often or even at all. I think that in Onyx Storm we will see the Sorrengails have a fight, as they have just lost their mother and they have no idea how to deal with their grief and that will be the ignition for this much deeper sibling fight which will lead to Violet exploding about just how alone she felt before becoming a rider. How her own siblings ignored her and made her feel like she didn’t fit in with the family. (Ik that was a stretch but when you think about it it’s all there I just read it a bit deeper, but that doesn’t mean they don’t love her. They just don’t understand her).
Violet's 2nd Signet Theory: My number 1 is Truth-Sayer. I would think truth-sayer is a varient of being inntinnsic. So it would be a signet that manifests from needing to know information. But more than that, Violet also needs to know what information is factual. She recites FACTS when calming/centering herself, not just random knowledge. And with finding out that a lot of the stuff she knows is either an outright lie or partial truth, I think it will aid in discovering vital information as well as satisfy her scribe mind. I also think her signet has something to do with light or the Sun will play a role. This is because her first signet isn't just lightning welding. It's "pure power" and that pure power takes the form of lightning when she weilds it. What is another word for power? Energy. What is light? Energy. Aka Light is Pure Power. I think she might find a way to alter the form of said pure power and make it more of a light energy form and then she can find a way to use said light energy to restore the drained lands and purge the venin corruption. This is a long comment. 😅 I just want to say, I read the books right after they released. I've reread them. And now I am listening to the dramatized audio books. I am a stay-at-home mother of 3, and I found your podcast last week. I have already listened to EVERYTHING Empyrean in your content with my headphones while doing day to day chores and stuff. That’s all I let in as I force my way through the passage.” And in FW in the dream papa Sorrengail says: “Your mother has never understood that while riders may be the weapons of our kingdom, it’s the scribes who have all the real power in this world.” It’s also worth noting that Violet doesn’t remember names of first years in IF, but she suddenly remembers all of them when she runs to the wardstone in the final battle (after we know Andarna can breathe fire): ““Move!” I shout at Lynx and Baylor. Because I remember their names. Avalynn. Sloane. Aaric. Kai, the flier. I know all the first-years’ names.” Another idea in this area is: I wonder if her power is like being a super computer - she can recall any information and use it and “compute” the truth at speed (like there is seventh den, while even Tairn doesn’t know) or Xaden’s second signet. Another random though I had is: What if there is a dragon sickness going around (that’s why Cath breath) and venin is somehow connected to it. And that’s why leadership is trying to mend venin to learn how to protect dragons. This means that Dain is not venin (yet), but maybe if your dragon is infected or you are infected, it’s likely you become venin. And maybe that’s why Aetos worked closely with Varish. Varish is infected and probably venin, influencing Solas and became Dani’s mentor, while Nolon was trying to fix Jack.
For the intrinsic theory - in Xadens POV - he is being held up in the air and thinking that his worst nightmare has come true - HIS NIGHTMARE - also the General tells Xaden “you will turn for love” while TARIN and Sagal fight to get to him. Now in Violet’s POV when she dreams about being caught in the air (and can’t get to TARIN) and is told the same thing - what if she’s unconsciously in Xaden’s mind seeing his dream and thinking it was her own, she only has this said dream while sleeping next to Xaden.

Just watching and a thought came to me about the chapter 22 profile pic. The epigraph could be talking about the first time you feel your dragons power or when you first turn venin. If you already said this, ignore me! I just feel like a lot of the epigraphs are cryptic and we assume they are related to the coming chapter but I'm convinced more and more that they are Easter eggs for future story and I read them all through that lens now. I had this thought too! It could very easily be referring to channeling from the source versus a person's dragon bond because the epigraph itself does not specify. I suppose it's implied to be the latter because of the source, but we really don't know for sure.

oh my, i finally got time to go through this. im making a booklet on dragon kind from the emyrean. i love the idea of the seventh dens hatching grounds to be in the barrens. through my research i find that hatching grounds make sense for the dragon den. so say they were in the barrens it would make sense that their fire roasts venin and that they know the weapon to it as they lived so close to them.
I think the cure for Xaden will come from Andarna somehow. Since her fire can kill them, she has some deeper connection. That could be the “second honor” connection, giving venin a second chance at life.
I still think Violet is a distant wielder 🖤 This happens after she can smell Andarna in sulphur and breathe fire indicate she is fully grown. Violet then able to jump between dragons and being airborne still landed fine on Tarin to save Sawyer, and she then run super fast to the wardstone. She needs to be fast and quick so that she can save the people she loves. Bare in mind in Iron flame pt 1 Violet can't even do the slide landing as part of her exam.
I think we need to think about what the opposite of lightening/pure power is for her second signet because Andarna keeps saying “nature likes everything in balance”.
I commented the daemati theory last week on your vid. 😍 I went back and reviewed all the times Something wrapped around violet's mind. It's xaden and it's described as a shadowy bond that wraps around.. In the throne room scene, There is the 1st mention of Something new-- "Shimmering onyx Wraps around my mind and everything (in italics) Intensifies This is the only time when shimmering onyx Wraps around Her mind. This intensification supports the Notion that she is pulling from the sun In a way. Maybe she intensive the signets of those around her.
5 min in and I should wait to comment, but my guess on her second signet still has something to do with time. Or, what if it has to do with healing; then there could be the flashback of the scene where someone she cared about died. Also, she has health issues but preservers. However, now that I hear what they said about needing information, and the scenes of what could happen to some…. Interesting. 🤔 😂💕
What if at one point while Lilith was pregnant with Violet she was in a battle and she almost burned out and drew from the source to become venin but couldn’t turn because Violet is immune and she acted like a vaccine for Lilith but it caused her to get ill and then obviously violet’s condition and hair. 😮
I would need to reread because I’m not sure on when/how often it happens- when Violet dreams of the Venin, is she near Xaden? Is she intinsicly dreamwalking? Because we know xaden is having those intense dreams as well from the last chapter, even using the same language- you’ll turn for love. But I’d need to reread to see if she is around him when she dreams like that.
I do think it’s significant that Tairn will “not discuss the one who came before!” He is so upset about Noalin similarly to how Sgaeyl is upset about Xaden going Venin.
Okay theory about andarna's dragon clan. If you go to page 40 it talks about two more black dragons were born. But what if those are actually more members of her clan and they've all been waiting for the right time to be born?
Thoughts/theory...and a spoiler...... Is there a connection to the fact that Jack Barlow is a venon and was so hell bent in killing Andarna at Threshing? Seems a little sus.....🤔 I know he hadn't turned at that point but .......
I think she can just run fast. There were a few times when people where catching their breath running behind her. She's been doing a lot of running...and she did say she needs to get faster.
On the theory that dragons can break the bond. I think I remember in fourth wing talking about retirement for the dragon riders. I don’t think that the dragons would just stop fighting so I think they have to break to bond for retirement.
Why do we think Andarna needed a rider with the mind of a scribe? Yes, it makes Violet really cunning but there must've been many cunning riders in those hundreds of years. Why a scribe specifically? It could be a point towards the theory of her having a relationship with Papa Sorrengail, because they could've had a partnership where they each get something out of their time together. Perhaps Papa Sorrengail got to study feathertails while Andarna got him to try to figure out what happened to her den?
Violet has to be a ward or ward traveler? now and maybe wards don’t just protect but know what’s going on within. Idk. 1. Xaden is always says Violet is his home so now Violet is now his protector from drawing from the source(relationship dynamic switch) 2. The 3 brothers, could be the 3 children now. Healer of ward, ward extender, ward something? 3. If freezing time was a baby power and endarna is purple, the purple chakra is physically thought to be the pineal gland which controls so so so much so what if instead violence can connect mentally to anyone within her ward. 4. I have to relisten, but in the ward scene it didn’t fully feel like other types of almost burning out, what if it was her gaining her signant 5. Violet can feel the powers of the wards so much more than others, why? 6. In violets coming to age story and her obsession with the wards, what if it is foreshadowing of her knowing everything about herself as a ward. Okay have to go reread everything again now, bye.

Point of clarification, just incase it wasn’t already said, Andarna’s fire cannot kill a venin. She used her fire to distract the venin and then bit their head off.
Rebecca has not answered yes or no to the question “can a dragon willingly break a bond with their dragon if they are alive?” I believe she said “that’s an interesting question, isn’t it?” So if Tairn willingly broke his bond with naolan because he went venin then they would not all be bonded.
This is one of my little theories. So we know that Violet has these nightmares about the Sage. And we know that Xaden's been having them as well. What if Violet's dreams are actually Xaden's but appearing in her mind through Xaden's pov? This could be a hint at her second signet...

In the throne room scene, There is the 1st mention of Something new-- "Shimmering onyx Wraps around my mind and everything (in italics) Intensifies
This is the only time when shimmering onyx Wraps around Her mind. This intensification supports the Notion that she is pulling from the sun In a way. Maybe she intensive the signets of those around her.

5 min in and I should wait to comment, but my guess on her second signet still has something to do with time. Or, what if it has to do with healing; then there could be the flashback of the scene where someone she cared about died. Also, she has health issues but preservers. What if at one point while Lilith was pregnant with Violet she was in a battle and she almost burned out and drew from the source to become venin but couldn’t turn because Violet is immune and she acted like a vaccine for Lilith but it caused her to get ill and then obviously violet’s condition and hair. 😮
I would need to reread because I’m not sure on when/how often it happens- when Violet dreams of the Venin, is she near Xaden? Is she intinsicly dreamwalking? Because we know xaden is having those intense dreams as well from the last chapter, even using the same language- you’ll turn for love.
But I’d need to reread to see if she is around him when she dreams like that.
I do think it’s significant that Tairn will “not discuss the one who came before!” He is so upset about Noalin similarly to how Sgaeyl is upset about Xaden going Venin.

Okay theory about andarna's dragon clan. If you go to page 40 it talks about two more black dragons were born. But what if those are actually more members of her clan and they've all been waiting for the right time to be born?

I think she can just run fast. There were a few times when people where catching their breath running behind her. She's been doing a lot of running...and she did say she needs to get faster.
On the theory that dragons can break the bond. I think I remember in fourth wing talking about retirement for the dragon riders. I don’t think that the dragons would just stop fighting so I think they have to break to bond for retirement.
Why do we think Andarna needed a rider with the mind of a scribe? Yes, it makes Violet really cunning but there must've been many cunning riders in those hundreds of years. Why a scribe specifically?
It could be a point towards the theory of her having a relationship with Papa Sorrengail, because they could've had a partnership where they each get something out of their time together. Perhaps Papa Sorrengail got to study feathertails while Andarna got him to try to figure out what happened to her den?
Violet has to be a ward or ward traveler? now and maybe wards don’t just protect but know what’s going on within. Idk. 1. Xaden is always says Violet is his home so now Violet is now his protector from drawing from the source(relationship dynamic switch) 2. The 3 brothers, could be the 3 children now. Healer of ward, ward extender, ward something? 3. If freezing time was a baby power and endarna is purple, the purple chakra is physically thought to be the pineal gland which controls so so so much so what if instead violence can connect mentally to anyone within her ward. 4. Violet can feel the powers of the wards so much more than others, why? 6. Just thought of this while listening - but did JFB ever manifest his signet before he "died"? I've read both books twice and I don't remember anything being said about Jack's signet.
If papa sorengail had a relationship with Andarna would that mean that Violet bonding her would give her 2 signets from Andarna (since you get a second signet if you are bonded to a family member). Her name means second honor which could mean Andarna will give her 2 signets, in addition to the one she already has from Tairn. Thoughts?
Point of clarification, just incase it wasn’t already said, Andarna’s fire cannot kill a venin. She used her fire to distract the venin and then bit their head off.

Rebecca has not answered yes or no to the question “can a dragon willingly break a bond with their dragon if they are alive?” I believe she said “that’s an interesting question, isn’t it?” So if Tairn willingly broke his bond with naolan because he went venin then they would not all be bonded.

Who did Andarna hear talking about Violet before she hatched?
This is one of my little theories. So we know that Violet has these nightmares about the Sage. And we know that Xaden's been having them as well. What if Violet's dreams are actually Xaden's but appearing in her mind through Xaden's pov? This could be a hint at her second signet...
Does that mean that xaden is going to destroy the wards? I swear the sage says in one of violet/xaden’s dreams that she will destroy the wards
If Tairn dies, does Violet lose her signet from him?

I don't believe Tairn will die. I think Xaden will die as a venin and will need his bond with Sgaeyl to remain so he can be resurrected as human. That's how he is cured.

I think the cure for Xaden will come from Andarna somehow. Since her fire can kill them, she has some deeper connection. That could be the “second honor” connection, giving venin a second chance at life.
Ooohhh I just got tingles. Mention about Naolin being still mind bonded to Tairn , and sending those dreams to Xaden and Violet by proxy. There was talk in Fourth Wing and they question why dragons don’t bind 2 riders.. I think Tairn is still bonded to Naolin and that Naolin is the Venin “sage”
