    Clearly presented, and just the right level of detail. Many thanks for posting.

    Thanks GEARSinc very helpful, especially getting through all the blankn' blister pack. LOL
    Two questions: Will both driver and robot phone need to go through this entire set up process, and will the phone verification be required for each phone using a specific computer. In other words, will you be able to switch computers, or will the verification need to be repeated? I realize the ZTE driver will need to be installed on each computer. Thanks again for your 'To the point' tutorial.

      Rob Reynolds You only need the developer setup on any phone you intend to download your own code to. As far as I can tell, the verification is only needed the first time Android Studios tries to connect to the phone via ADB. Each computer needs the trust verification, but it will hold on to all of them. The phone remembers the authentication until it's reset to factor defaults again.

    Hey can you please help me with downloading the code from Android studios to the phone. Also I'm not really sure if the setup I did for the robot controller is correct. please help...

    Is it a big deal if I enabled developer mode on both devices? If so, is there a way to revert back to non-developer mode? Will the phone that goes into developer mode, the phone you download code to, be the Driver Controler device?

    • @GEARSinc
      @GEARSinc  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Alex Daszek It's no big deal. In fact I think you need it on both if you want to manually install the Driver Station app. However, the phone that you will be developing your own code for, will be the Robot Controller phone (the one on the robot). You DEFINITELY need that phone in developer mode, and you want Debugging enabled, so you can connect from Android Studios.

    How might one connect the Driver Station phone and the Robot Control phones?

    • @GEARSinc
      @GEARSinc  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Jimmy James Not sure exactly what you are asking, but if you want your FTC Driver Station to Connect to the FTC Robot Controller you need to d a couple of things. 1) Assign WiFi direct names to each device using the settings/wifi/... / WiFi Direct/ ... name device (see the FTC Game manual for official naming conventions) 2) Start the Driver Station app, select the upper right menu, and choose settings, and then use the "Pair with Robot controller "option.

    Does anyone know of a video, or themselves know, how to upload code from MIT App Inventor 2, to the ZTE phones? I finished my code, yet cannot see the phone in Virtual Box, while I can see it on my regular pc screen. If anyone can help, please let me know. Thanks! Team 10830

    Hmm. Doesn't work for the Prestige, though. Wish ZTE would make this more consistent.

    What is the First-Tech Challenge?
    I have Android Studio 2.3.1 and I'm trying to run
    C:\Users\Me\AppData\Local\Android\sdk\platform-tools\adb shell
    reboot disemmcwp
    but I couldn't get Windows to load any of the adb drivers (Google/Intel/etc) for the tracfone zte speed (vid 19d2 / pid 0306). I have USB debugging enabled on the phone (pressing build number a few times)
    So I installed this adb driver
    support.zte.com.cn/support/news/NewsDetail.aspx?newsId=1000442
    And this worked... Just had to make sure that I set it to 'Charging Only' on the phone, then finally KingRoot was able to root it!
