Glad I found this! My husband is a contractor/fix-it guy and says he gets asked about painting all the time but, with what he charges for his contractor rate, they could find actual painters much cheaper. We're recently married, and I'm the 9-5er with bennies. Truly, the ONLY thing keeping me here even this very moment is the insurance. So, I'm starting there to see what paying our own nut looks like on that and potentially joining him in the field as a painter. I've envied his ability to set his own schedule, and things are starting to align to possibly give ME that opportunity, but when? I'm a bit worried to pull the plug, truth be told. Additionally, I'm not necessarily looking to hire out (smaller jobs or ones where time is not of the essence), so it would mostly be solo work. I'm looking forward to following your video postings on ideas.

Yep, Lead services when working is tough. I work and what happens is most people already get estimates the next day while I'm at work and they have usually picked a painter before I can even get to the estimate.

True. One site I was on was after that licensure was removed still said it was required, so it was a bit confusing until I went to LARA.

    Great stuff!
I don't have a problem selling and chasing the leads and generating leads. My question is; how do you pace the time between you contracting the work and find the subs or workers ready to do the job when you need them to start. Where do you find them?

Find them on Craigslist. And set proper expectations with customers.

Hey man I just found your channel today. Me and my dad who has 20+ years experience in painting and I’m already a better painter than people who are twice my age (21). We been working on our business together we are licensed and I shared painters. Our biggest and only client is a guy name mike his family owns showcase reality a big company in CT. He keeps us in work and always house houses and property for us to paint. It’s just me and him no one else works for us or above us. We are mostly knowledgeable in the production area seeing as we are the ones that do all the work. However I’m interested in trying to make this grow to something huge like you so we don’t have to do the labor anymore. We struggle finding clients so we don’t have much of an income to pay others to work because this is our only job. If there’s any advice you can give I’d appreciate it so much. I feel like we are so close to making this thing become huge. We started from nothing just doing odd jobs and we haven’t come very far but we definitely aren’t where we started. I pushed my dad into the idea of making this into something real. I know for a fact we don’t really know how handle money the right way and we lack in marketing also. Feel like we having something we can build just don’t have the now how. We’re just hard working laborers who want to get out of that Orr of the business. Hopefully you see this. Thanks 🙏🏼
