    Thank you so much for this. I'm embarking on my journey to do an MSc conversion course too

    Hey, I really love your content and I am glad that I found you on TH-cam. I was hoping you could tell me what the employment prospects is like for an international student looking for an entry level job in software engineering.

      Hey, for international students who require a visa, it can be a bit challenging as not all companies have that option but it’s definitely possible. I know people in my course who needed a visa and got jobs before graduation

      @@anitangoc thanks a lot for responding. One final thing, would you say most international students in your cohort managed to find entry level jobs before or shortly after graduation? Or are most of them still unemployed?

    • @anitangoc
      @anitangoc  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The ones that I was closest to and studied with the most got jobs. But like I said, it’s all about preparation. If you prepare and start job hunting early then there’s no reason for you to not get a job just because you’re an international student

      @@anitangoc thanks a lot and I promise you this is my last question. Were most of those international students hired by FAANG/Big tech companies or did some of them manage to find jobs at start-ups and medium level businesses? Also, did they have prior work experience when they applied for these jobs?
      Can't thank you enough for responding to my comments. I really appreciate it. Don't worry, I won't pester you with more questions if you reply to this comment :).

      I think 1 person got an offer from Amazon but rejected it and accepted the offer from Bloomberg instead! The rest got offers from some big but non-tech companies, and the rest went to mid-size and startups.
      As far as I know, none of these people had prior work experience which involved any coding! Hope that’s helps😊

    This is very inspirational and thank you for sharing this! I am actually in a very similar situation right now. I graduated with a psychology degree in 2020 the day after I received my degree, my mom passed away. So as you can imagine that was a very stressful time for me. Applying for jobs and grieving at the same time. So, 2021 I got a part-time job and used that year as a gap year to figure out what to do next. This year, I was interested in learning more about ux design, but I lost interest after attempting to learn code. I hear that people need certifications to land a software engineering role. Should I go to graduate school or should I just get certification?

    What a story!
    I have so much to ask about as I'm considering taking a cs conversion myself but I know no one will reply so I keep looking for other videos you made.

    Thanks for your useful pieces of information as usual , i have a question regarding the graduate visa after completing the conversion masters program , is it easy to find a job compared to another graduate with previous computer science background. in other words, does the program make you qualified to work within only 1 year ?

    • @anitangoc
      @anitangoc  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A lot of people I know from my course have secured a grad job before graduation. You will be “qualified” but you have to be prepared to interview as the interview process is very different from other fields

    Hi, do you think doing the coding intro class helped you cinch getting a data analysis role? I've been looking, but most want applicants to have some sort of quantitative background, unless I've been looking at the wrong companies?

    • @anitangoc
      @anitangoc  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! It didn’t help me that much but it was definitely something to talk about during the interview. It took me 7 months of applying and interviewing before I got a data analyst role (and this was all I did everyday) so it’s definitely not easy
