Hi GB they did come out before mini brands and they haven't had them for years. They don't do them anymore because people were complaining about the amount of plastic that was used. Also Woolworths another supermarket in Australia did something similar.
Hi GB! big fan from australia here! with coles and the other large retailer here (woolworths) they often do promotional things like these little shops! you get one for every $30 you spend! some grocery items you purchase may even give you an extra one of these toys!! ❤️ from what i know im pretty sure they were produced before or around the same time as the first mini brands series! and yes the instant coffee comes in a glass jar with a clear top like that!
In Australia and New Zealand, Pavlova is pronounced like 'Pav-low-vah', rhymes a bit with 'over'. So Santa was pavl-over the moon. Maggi is pronounced with hard g's. Madgie, not mahggi. Christmas Crackers are a toy, not an edible cracker. Two people take hold of one end each of the cracker and pull it apart. It 'cracks' with a small explosion, like those firecracker pop its you could throw at the ground, and the person who gets the biggest piece 'wins' the prize, which is a paper crown, a little toy, and a christmas joke. The jokes are all very old and recycled, and as you age, you start to remember them all, so it can become its own game of shouting out the answer every year. The little puns in the chriistmas pack of minis are the sort of jokes they include.
I’m still super surprised when people don’t know about Christmas crackers. I’m in the US and they are a must in our household. An extra gift on the dining table that pops when you open it, has a hat, cheesy joke, and silly gift? Heck yes sign me up! ✋🏻
The 🇺🇸 is so varied. It's fun hearing about things that are important to others that I've never heard of. I'm so thankful I get to live in the information age.
Hi GB. I’m new to your channel and I was thrilled to see when you open these brands from Australia. I have family there and I’m familiar with lots of these products so I ordered some for myself. I really enjoy your channel. It makes me smile and makes me feel happy in these days. It’s some thing I really appreciate is someone who can make me laugh and feel good about myself. Thank you so much, Peter.
Hi GB. These were fun to collect, you could also get a collection box to put them in. After Coles stopped giving these out I happened to find some in a second hand shop. They stopped producing them due to complaints about plastic waste, going forward their promotions are now mainly cardboard based 🇦🇺 thanks, I enjoy your work!
If I come across the box in a second hand store I will get one for you, although they did run out of stock at our Coles so there may not be many around? Also let me know any missing from your set and I will see if I have a double. 😊
@GBKuhleen haha it's actually not very nice coffee Everything you opened looks exactly like it looks like in real life And the Pavlova joke this is how you pronounce pavlova Broken down pav lo va so the joke was saying that Santa was pav l over the moon if that makes sense lol And edgell is pronounced like if you say the g like a j like jelly and say edgell like that you get the right pronunciation I really hope I'm making sense lol
Christmas crackers will probably sound weird if you've never seen one, I believe they originated in the UK. They're something you have at the table when you have your Christmas dinner. They're cardboard tubes and usually before the meal you and another person would pull it apart - it makes a snapping sound. Then whoever has the biggest side has 'won' the contents which is usually a paper crown hat (which you're then expected to wear throughout the meal), a joke written on paper and a small toy. The back of the box you were looking at showed the types of toys which might be inside the crackers. I hope that helps! Merry Christmas!
But honestly everyone should have heard of them if you’ve read Harry Potter even if those are more “magical”. I’m in the US so they’re harder to find but we HAVE to have Christmas crackers every year.
@@Abigail_Wyatt Oh wow I didn't realise you actually could get them in the US! I'm in the UK so it's always just been part of Christmas tradition to have them. I'm glad you can enjoy them in the US too!
Thank for the video, I'm from Australia, there hasn't been an Little Shops from Coles for a couple of years or so, the last promotional thing Coles had were DC Comics little cardboard things you built.
I bought some of those last year on eBay, and now I see them sold in lots on Mercari here in USA at low prices. An Australian friend brought me about 20 of these when she visited recently. They are way too big for the smaller scale I prefer, but still pretty nice. The quality and size of the food containers is like that of Mini Brands Series 1. The Cole's mini that I think is a "must have" is the Cole's carton of eggs. I have it and it looks just the organic eggs I buy at Aldi's. It's small like the Mini Brands Series 5 minis and has amazing detail. Also nice and on a small scale is the toilet paper rolls and the loaf of bread, but the toilet paper is hard plastic covered in sheer plastic with printing on it, and the bread has cardboard inside, but still very cute. Also, Cole's Colgate toothpaste tube, although on the big size, is amazing.
Coles has no apostrophe by the way 😁 I wonder if GB will be able to find the collectors cases for these? I had one case half full but had to bin it in my last move 😢
I scanned the QR code and since these little shops were released a few years back, the page was un available. I remember I used to beg my parents to shop at coles so I could get these. Ppl and my school had the collectors case and we would trade💗💗😭😭
Hey, GB I’ve only been watching for about two weeks, but I absolutely love your videos, very seriously thinking about starting my own collections. Thanks to you. Hope you have a good new year. Lots of love from the state of Virginia
Hey brands I know!! As someone else said these came out years ago, given out with your shop when you spent a certain amount. I only ever collected a handful myself (my favourite was the Milo and/or the Vegemite) - actually didn’t know there were Christmas ones?! Moccona does have a clear glass cap. Shapes are just savoury crackers with different flavours - there’s a cheese flavour but that one doesn’t have cheese. Not quite Cheez-its but similar I suppose. Australians shorten anything so “inspo” (for inspiration yep) is definitely something we say even outside of current slang trends 😂 Beans on toast ideally should be baked beans (in tomato sauce)… not sure if you can get that in America actually. Don’t try with other kinds of beans on their own. Wait, what’s wrong with the brand name “Bulla”!!? I think you jinxed yourself when you said you didn’t really get many duplicates when you were getting close to the end… what a swarm of dupes! I kind of want to send you these food products haha (at least the non perishable ones).
I really admire the patience you have for mini food cooking. I've been thinking about giving it a try myself, but to be honest, I probably won't manage more than one video. 😄
Hi 👋 I hope you are doing well and that everything is going well for you 😊 and that you're having a happy weekend and a happy Saturday 😊. Also I hope you enjoy these figures that you unboxed today 😊. Also please remember to take care of yourself 🙏. Also you are amazing 🤩 so keep being you cuz you're awesome 😎🙏.
My son love Maggi chicken but it's not healthy to eat all the time. I'm not Australian but there's a lot of international brands in the grocery shop where I live and I can get most known brands from different countries. 😅
I think if you want to make your own I think it's about how it's drawn. It looks like cross hatch shading or possibly stipple shading, kinda makes it looked textured and 3D if done right like the way they did. I would try that and I assume it helps to have a container to look through, to distract the eye and trick the brain. 🧠

Cracked are the Australian name of BonBons. You pull them each end with a loved one and it “crackers” open. Inside there is a paper hat, a joke and a plastic toy. No edible crackers lol
Edgell is jell not gell, like Jell-o. Not a guh pronunciation. Maggi's pronunciation is like magic no c and is an international Swiss based conglomerate just like Nestlé and Nestlé makes Milo! Bulla is two cyllables, bull-ah. It's also a town name in country New South Wales (state where Sydney's located) Pavlova is three cyllables, pav-low- vah. It's actually based on a German egg meringue torte but its origins has been a long fought over food item between Aus & NZ for years as the origins aren't clear
Australia has Woolworths which is the competition company to Coles Supermarkets. Woolworths not affiliated with the old US, UK or South African Woolworth variety stores. Same how we have Kmart and Target stores in Australia which have no affiliation to the old US ones
Awesome collection 🥳🥳🥳 Never realized how many other brands were making minis like this that I have to search out 😁😁😁 Would be awesome to complete the collection, but if not, still cool to have some of them 😊😊😊
Nope, MB is the copycat! 10 other supermarket chains in the world had released 'Little Shop' collectibles before Zuru Mini Brands even started theirs! My mum and grandma used to love beans on toast for dinns on winter Sunday nights-and sometimes put grated parm cheese on it!
Beans on toast with a fried, or poached egg on top is better.
