Those are definitely ostrich eggs and people will pay a lot for them. we had an ostrich (she was a rescue that we took in)when I was growing up and she used to lay eggs all the time and people started asking if they could have them and so as a young teenager I learned how to drill a hole in them and take the egg out and clean them and sell them and I got to keep the money for doing the work and I made a lot of money for a 13 year old I was able to buy my first car with what I made after selling eggs for a couple of years and I also paid for my own insurance and gas money thanks to Lulabelle (my ostriches name)🥰

@@edie9330 she was so sweet. We gave her a good life but she enriched ours in so many more ways than we could have ever imagined. Rescue animals are so unique and special and in our experience so loving. So many fond and fun memories were made.
@lesliespradley8897 I agree wholeheartedly. I won't go into a story here because it would take so long but yrs ago a little black cat found us, and we took her home. We had her for 4 yrs until she died of breast cancer. We did everything we could to save her, but it was not meant to be. She was my most Ioving girl and let me tell you, she was GRATEFUL for her life with us. If I had 20 people in my home, she would greet each one and "talk" to them. Even my older brother, who wasn't a fan of cats, loved her. She was the most loving little girl, I lost her 14 yrs ago and I still mourn for her. 💔
Julie!!!! You’re killin me!!! So many amazingly beautiful & unique items. I’m seriously about to have an anxiety attack! It’s just so overwhelming. The wire baskets with the numbers remind me of the baskets we got at our local pools to put our things in before swimming. We're talking the mid 60's here. Yes, I am that young! Lol

Wow, that is the best antique store I've ever seen. So sad that they need to close that beautiful shop. My sister Katie and I were in Memphis for the Holiday Market this weekend. We got to meet Melissa and Sue from Vintage Bee Design, so fun! On Sunday we went over to MS and shopped at Kilgore's Antiques, found lots of treasures! So wish we would have run into you there. The owner said you have not been in recently.

You have a very nice basket of ostrich eggs! And if you ever come across a large egg that is bumpy and dark green, that’s an emu egg.
Now thats my kind of antique store. I recently went to 2 different antique stores and both had more new stuff than old stuff.
Just an FYI. The fur coats make beautiful pillows. I wish I had kept my Gma’s fur cape and made a couple from it. I saw a video awhile ago where she made them. I was so disappointed bcuz I never thought of it!😺

The largest eggs Ostrich eggs but I think they're painted. All I've seen were not and a beautiful teal green with rusty brown speckles, not sure what the fist sized are, and maybe a few duck eggs in there too....little bigger than chicken eggs....

I am wondering how the eggs are made hard like that, especially if they are Ostrich eggs. I think you should get them. But for resell no but personal use would be neat decor. I also like the wooden coasters. They don't scratch furniture like ceramic ones when these loose the felt circles on bottom of them. Watched from Pekin, IL

I am from South Africa, and that is ostrich eggs. It is almost like a souvenir here, you will find them in all the tourism shops here.
They do the most beautiful carvings on them, sometimes puts a light inside and even do gorgeous wild animal paintings on them. Im sure if you google it, you will find what Im talking about

Those are ostrich eggs. Very common decor piece here in South Africa. Also, those wooden coasters in that wooden holder are also in probably every home in South Africa. @2:45 I have that exact crock pitcher with the blue stripes. I love it so much and have a collocation of crockery and Blue Willow in my dining room. Wouldn’t mind having duplicate pitcher ❤.

I can totally see this place as a museum of antiquities...and I wonder if the owner opening it up for that would provide a continuing income without the work of a retailer.
It breaks my heart that these people are losing this incredible piece of historical pieces. I would enjoy just walking through this place, and I'm sure I'm not alone.
