That's weird. The Neighborhoods we're sure given the wrong names because the Buckhead neighborhood looks more like a Bank and the Bankhead neighborhood looks like it only has a Buck.

Ah yes Buckhead, the place where everyone thinks all the wealthy people live….meanwhile they truly live on the outskirts of Atlanta. Sandy Springs, Vinings, Duluth, and Alpharetta. All the Buckhead mansions are primarily lived in by people with old money.

That was Tuxedo Park Buckhead! It's old money acquired by the slave trade. They've made a system that we're still falling for One Hundred and Fifty years later! You're making a misguided view of a part of Atlanta. Instead of asking why dodn't you see any Black people in those Buckhead Neighborhoods?
With all of the so called Black Wealth in Atlanta, which part of Buckhead do they live in? Bankhead looks like that because those people are being unfairly Taxed out of their homes! Instead of upkeeping their property they're paying $3000 and up for a $12,000 property! A 50' x 150' piece of property in Bankhead is no different in Buckhead, but if you're given over a Hundred and Fifty year head start tax free shouldn't your estate look better than a shack in Bankhead?

The city owns the streets, public services and a few easements not the homes and personal property. What's done with that is up the property owners. Even if the residents in Bankhead aren't wealthy they can come together, maintain what they have and show up at board meetings to request better parks and recreation. If those parks aren't demolished by the residents then the city will oblige them. Same goes for the schools and any other public services. By taking care of the city a poor person can sqeeze tax dollars out of the wealthy residents, get nice parks and rec and pay less taxes on their own personal property in the same time!

Some might applaud the investment intl this part of the city but the reality is that this place is about to be gentrified to hell abs many black homeowners will be forced out. A lose lose situation in my books. Blight might not be nice to look at but it allows people to own with dignity and not be a wage serf

People work in Atlanta and live in metro Atlanta. The real wealth is in metro Atlanta not in the city. I love my city. Bankhead dose have better houses then what’s showed… you just can’t access them cause of gated communities. Where as buckhead is a bit more upscale and city-like you still see homelessness. Less abandon places as well.
Ex: Stockbridge, Union city, Dallas, Marietta, Alpharetta, Duluth, Roswell, Dunwoody is where you’d see the wealth.
