  • Hi. Among many things, COVID-19 has changed a lot of plans I had for the channel. Not being able to get into Canada this year has also allowed me to start exploring the Adirondacks in NY. I recently got my solo Swift pack boat canoe that I plan on taking to many different wilderness areas in the US and Canada. This St. Regis Floodwood Ponds canoe area in the ADK is absolutely gorgeous. My buddy Matt and I spent 4 days doing the loop and had a great time out there. Coyotes and loons serenaded us at night and the sun shined the majority of the trip. I plan to make far more substantial trip videos in the near future. Please enjoy these clips in the mean time. I hope you'll subscribe!

All the sights and sounds, and no dialogue. Makes me long for a solo trip to enjoy that experience again.
    Great filming, by the way.
    Cheers,
    - Martin

I think I'll do a nice silent paddling video eventually. Have you seen Tumblehome? He has some great ones.

Backcountry Paddler that will definitely be an adventure lol I really enjoy seeing adventure videos with animals. Gives the video a different feel it’s great! And having a companion is always welcomed (once trained well I’m sure lol)

Thanks for reconnecting! This trip looked great ...we have never canoed the Adirondack area...very beautiful! Last year we did Algonquin and of course...not this year...we are in Michigan so do a lot of river paddling. Cheers Colleen and Jonny

Adirondacks are a must! Similar to Algonquin in many ways but more mountainous. I've been to both now and both are fantastic. I can't wait for the border to reopen. There's so many trips ahead in Canada.

Hey! I live in Keene and am in the process of ordering a Swift for the purpose of doing multi-day paddling trips in the ADKs. I just stumbled on your channel and look forward to checking out your videos to get ideas. St. Regis area is def on my list! Thanks for providing an inspiration to me. There def is some nerves to getting out there and doing new things!

I can't even tell you how much I love a comment like this! Which Swift are you choosing!? I'm in love with the St. Regis Canoe Area. It's such a beautiful place. There are always nerves when canoe tripping, especially solo, but that just adds to the excitement! There's no better feeling in the world!

@@BackcountryPaddler Im looking at the same as you. I could fit both my dogs and gear. I wanted a pack canoe but it is too small for us. I was paddling/fishing on Saranac the other day and a nice couple let me take their Swift on a trial paddle. It was an epic moment for me. Thanks for putting out your videos! Keep up the great work! I have a rental cabin called Random Scoots if you and ur family are ever looking to adventure in this area!

@@shayetanner6431 just looked at it, really nice! I'll have to take you up on that. We stayed in a cabin in Inlet with the dogs last year and did a couple mountain hikes and paddled a few lakes. Definitely want to do that again!

I am guessing they are TENT CATERPILLARS. The web would fill with small bluish grey caterpillars…. They eat leaves of trees etc. When we get them in our trees we take a torch and burn off the web nests. Can kill a tree. Eventually turn into a moth 👍
