Great Review! Thank you! YES! It is the SOUND that matters. If headphones (or speakers) don't SOUND good, then any/every other aspect or feature becomes glaringly moot. I've owned the Bose, and I currently own both the Sony WH1000xm3 and the Master and Dynamic MW65. I've found that Bose and Sony always have thick, garishly Boooomy base with relatively muddy, dull highs, rendering poor spacial and sound stage quality, which is perfect for enjoying highly exaggerated and processed theme music; with that said, it may be funny for me to think that headphones (and speakers) should sound like "music", rather than sounding like a PA system. When I seek to find an emotionally moving musical experience, as I frequently listen to Jazz, Blues, World, and Classical music which tends to emphasize the skill and rapture of the artists, including the subtleties of acoustic instruments captured in high fidelity recording, my M&D MW65's are in a league above both Sony and Bose. My MW65's have a very clean, crisp, balanced sound which provides breathtaking detail for a vast, near holographic sound stage, allowing me to hear everything that the artists and recording engineers intended. My MW65's were about a hundred dollars more expensive, but the difference in the quality of my listening experience is priceless!
Disclosure: I am a huge fan and supporter of Live music and my S/O is a veteran professional studio session recording artist; access to her collection of material and live music is my cherished treasure. Headphones (and speakers) should sound like "music". www. PatrioticMillionaires .org
Bro, compared to 1000xm3, which of the two has more separation of instruments or better yet, which one do you enjoy the music more, how is it to have them in your head for a long time and do you think there is a difference between these and the mw60?
Your comparison of the MW65 to other consumer headphones echos my thoughts entirely. These really are a phenomenally detailed sounding set of headphones. Interestingly all of the other M&D offerings seem to share the boomy overemphasized bass of most other consumer wireless headphones, whereas the MW65 are something special.
@@KingFeraligator I have not had the opportunity to try the Panda headphones. I am still hopelessly in love with my M&D mw65s! They sound amazing! My business requires that I travel occasionally and I can take my music collection with me and listen in quality and fidelity.
Hi, currently the MW65 is priced at $350. So with around the same price, would you recommend this or the Sony WH-1000XM4? Obviously the Sony has better ANC but as an overall wireless headphone package, in term of comfort, sound quality, ease of use, battery life, build quality, which one would you prefer?
EDIT: Sorry, I misread your post. I haven't heard the Airpod Max so I can't comment on that. However, I would be surprised if the Max could match these in sound or longevity; mine has seen extensive use and are still in absolute mint condition.
I've had these for a couple years . Bought them because I am allergic to the glue used in the airpod Max and Apple didn't make a real leather cup. They've taken a bit of abuse and the only thing I've had to do is replace the leather ear cups. The MW75 replaces this model but until my MW65s die... not looking. The review is spot on in that the ear cups are a bit small (for me) and can wear this for only a couple of hours at most. I also purchased the MW08s which are not holding up as well. Bluetooth connections drop out. If I do anything... would consider IEMs...
@@PrimeAudioReviews The only issues I've had is the cups wore out and had to be replaced. The other issue is that I'm starting to have issues w the bluetooth stuff. Using the cord and plugging in... great. A pet peeve is that if I wanted to listen (corded) while charging... I can't use my laptop to charge and have to use a portable USB battery otherwise I'd get some feedback/noise. Again. Like them... using them until they die. But the MW08s are a different story.
yes they are and I have a big head I've emailed M&D they seem to think its an improvement the way they fit but they don't fit as snug as MH30 model sadly
Hello, how well wil these stay fresh brown im terms of decolouring? Should i consider a leather polish like the one for those famous other open back headphones?
Hi. Mine are still in perfect condition. They look, feel and sound perfect. There is a reason for the higher price and that is genuine high-quality components. But if you live in a harsh environment, a light leather polish would be a good idea.
Thank you for a nice review! I am looking into buying a pair of these, but someone made a point of the danger of leaving scratch marks on each ear cop over time. I understand when you rotate each ear cop to place the headphones in the case, the metal on each ear cup will touch each other, and maybe create friction which could leave scratches over time. Do you think this might happen in the case, or do you know about another case that would prevent this problem?
Soz for my previous reply, I thought I was answering about a different video. I haven't noticed any scratches on my pair yet so I don't think it will be a problem. However, if you're concerned you could always keep a small piece of material/cardboard/foam in the carrying pouch to place between the earcups!
I do have the scratches but they're sort of polishing the aluminium. I don't mind them. The sound is really great and for different kind of music they totally take me in a different dimension.
I had both! I have high end audio gear for home listening (focal clears and b&w p9) but i whittled down my bluetooth choices to mw65 , PX and M3, so i just lived with them for a month. The M3 has a much grander soundstage, thicker more luscious vocals, far more layering and dimension to the sound. Its hard to say objectively but by most metrics i know people judge headphones the M3 is a lot better - sadly as i adore the look of the mw65. The mw65 isnt a particularly impressive headphone at the price point - it lacks soundstaging and has a flat sound, it also lacks strength in the midrange. The bass is clear and very punchy, but lacks the effect of the M3. I recently bought the mh40 which have a similar look but are a cheaper wired headphone, still great as a side pair of cans. But if youre going for your main set, M3 all the way in my opinion. I did a blind test with my gf to check i wasnt just hearing things, and i literally quote ‘these are like three times as good ad these’ pointing at the momentums as better than the mw65 too lol.
@@falcodarkzz YES, thanks so much for the detailed comparison. I love the look of the MW65, but I just got a great deal on the M3s...I might get both to compare for myself..
@@PrimeAudioReviews so will you prefer this? I travel alot and I wanna switch from my bose, I'm tired of bose making same designs and colors headphones for 400$ so my friend told me to try this out and I started looking for people's opinions and thoughts on it

@@PrimeAudioReviews So I now own a pair of MW65's. 100% worth it at the reduced Amazon price. Honestly I have never heard a headset this detailed before but my experience is limited. What I can say however is that some aspects of the headset are worth taking into consideration if anyone wants to buy it. Like if battery life or ANC is top priority then the headset will disappoint. But the sound is sublime. The build quality is sublime. Even the quick charge is really really impressive. So overall I think worth every cent at the 350$ price on Amazon. Do you by any chance know how they compare to the 1000XM4's and NC700's? And how does sound quality compare to a dedicated pair of wired headphones like the HD600's?
Really glad to hear you like them bro. Compared to wired sets they aren't quite as good sound -wise but they have better build quality than most in their price range. I haven't heard the ones you mentioned but you should check out SIVGA Phoenix and iBasso SR2 if you're considering wired sets.
Beware. Very sneaky company and poor customer /service. I ordered headphones and was provided with tracking number for Royal Mail only to find out that the parcel was delivered by DHL. I never received the item and DHL provided me with picture of completely different parcel. No response from Master & Dynamic. So I am almost £200 behind.
My first pair did not work, after 5 months a cracking sound followed by a high pitch tone. So I went back to the store with them, next pair had problems with Bluetooth. I would not recommend these.
High quality obviously! Great craftsmanship and quality.
Can you please compare this with the hifiman sundara ? Is there a lot of difference ? Please recommend
