So do we determine n from the problem statement? Like if the problem says we’ve got an ideal gas at constant temp. We know n is 1. Or do we solve for n using an equation?
you missed one thing, what is a poly-tropic process? is it when energy is converted on two levels? work and heat rejection? or is it when there are two paths lines for it on the PvT diagram?
A polytropic process is a thermodynamic process that obeys the relation: p V^n = C where p is the pressure, V is volume, n is the polytropic index , and C is a constant. The polytropic process equation can describe multiple expansion and compression processes which include heat transfer. Example: Ideal Gas Law
Can anybody give me the link for derivation of work done for polytropic process on this channel as the video says that it has already been calculated in some other video. Please its urgent, can't find that video.
usually you could find the specific volume of the ideal gas using the pressure and/or temperature. from here predetermined tables can be used to find the internal energy.
legend of thermodynamics ppl
Great video. Thank you

Which book do you work with? Cengel & Boles' Thermodynamics: An Engineering Approach?
how to find the ideal gas formulas for polytropic processes?

@@HALEdigitalARTS Hello, can I ask you a question? Is the equation p2/p1=(v1/v2)^n only apply in polytropic process?
@@黑K猫 It can be applied to any process. the value of n varies according to process. For example, If it is an isothermal process, then n=1.
how do you solve for internal energy and enthalpy when it is polytropic? Is it the same with other processes?

I need it too. Did you find how to integrate the polytripic equation?
Thnx myan for clearing mine doubt❤️
thanks... great video
Helped a lot thanks..
What is "m" for the ideal gasses?
m is the mass of the ideal gas, usually given in the problem
I think its number of moles.. Derived from ideal gas equation
which book?
to find the work done using argon gas, should we use work done in any substances or work done in ideal gas?
the latter
