    Looks very convenient and sturdy but I think it would be best to always strap the bike from the rear wheel with a ratchet strap also, not just for the long hauls. It takes like 30 seconds and the strap from rear wheel to the van floor does not get in the way so much. I would be comfortable to haul a bike with this with one strap in the rear wheel. Normally I strap my bike with four: One from the rear wheel, one from the front wheel and two (one each side) from the upper front shock mount. Those three straps in the front are basically just to keep the bike from leaning side to side and they are very inconvenient to put in place and take a lot of storage space from the van, this system eliminates the need for those straps as it keeps the bike straight! I have basically the same van, a VW caravelle T6 and I haul my Ducati Desert sled with it. The caravelle version has sound proofed flooring from the factory and I would not like to make a hole in it to install this kind on system but when I get next van, it might be something that can handle this system🤔

      True adding the rear strap is a low effort big benefit kinda thing 😄 I like the Transporter so far but interesting to see if the bike still fits with the Rally Tower I have coming in tomorrow 😅
      Main reason I bought this mount was just to make the transport as quick as it can be. When I used straps I didn't tend to transport the bike daily and so I just rather ride to the trails.
      It's a wonder how much more you end up transporting the bike when it's this easy 🙂 Thanks for the comment!

      Yeah, the easier it is the more you will transport the bike and get more new places to ride! Looks like this really makes it easier. If the rally tower makes the bike too tall, its not a big hassle to ratchet strap from front shocks top mount to the front wheel axle to get the front height of the bike down to load the bike into the van. My bike is so tall from the front that I have to do it and its not a big deal.@@PatchedBandit

    Nice vid, nice solution. I am used to straps for the last decades, works for me. But you need extra fixing points in your van. Hope you reworked Rally Raid suspension works just fine. Günter/Nürnberg

      Straps work well. This is more a luxury than necessity 😊 I transport this bike so much it just takes away all the hassle 🙂

      @@PatchedBandit I don't need the van in Bavaria. Just for Italy or Wales. We can start in Nürnberg, in a few miles there are much more legal roads than anyone would imagine. But of course it is not too hard not too steep or sandy ;-) Just hop on the saddle and start, that's my usual routine. On a supersportbike or on an enduro. Happy days, Günter

    are you going to build a sleeping system in the Van as well? would be awesome to see one that's not permanently fixed in the car. Love the videos btw.

    any thoughts on loading bikes backwards ? alos i have ben looking at this same set up for klx300. the weight is about the same on the CRF so it should handle it i think

      Should be just as easy. Maybe even easier as gear and rear brake levers are not in the way if you load the bike backwards.

      I actually agree that the rambling about the ramp was pointless.. I deleted it now from the video with the youtube editor tool. New version should be online after the processing updates..

    First big pot hole or big bridge bump could it come out?

      With the suspension compressed properly the mount would need to brake in half for it to come loose. I think the back and and forth impact would be the worst.
      Ive ridden the poor mans version of similar mount to some pretty serious potholes with no problem.

    What tires and studs (how many) do you have on your CRF now?

      Front: Mitas C-17, 21” 90/90, stone eater, cross&enduro tire (306 studs)
      Back: Mitas C-16, 18” 110/100, stone eater, cross&enduro tire (don't remember stud count)
      Both tires are studded here in Finland by a company called “satapiikki”. Studs are also attached by glue. Expensive.. but nice.

      Yep. It's too much fun to be legal 😆 I try to avoid asphalt like kryptonite with these ones thoug. Doubt it's the worlds biggest crime to go on gravely/sandy forest roads with them though and probably no cops are going to care.
      In my opinion if you don't brake roads with them it's a good thing they have grip. Normal legal studs are horrific to ride. Legal studs should definitely not be legal 😂
