Actually, it makes perfect dog sense. Our feet carry scent glands (some more potent than others) and he was seeking her familiar scent. People routinely find dogs have chewed their remote, or took their keys, or chew on socks, this is a dog’s way of connecting to our scent. It goes through their mouth and nasal passages and soothes them when you are gone. So next time you find a chewed item, think how often and where you handled it and you will see a connection.
When our eldest, our daughter, went to college, her cocker spaniel didn’t eat for days. She would lay looking out the window watching for her. It was pathetically sad. But dad was just as bad. Not only did he miss her, he worried about everything. Is she taking her safety seriously? Is she eating right? Is she sleeping? Is she studying or partying? Are the guys at college bothering her? So though her pretty blond cocker Buffy missed her, her needs were simple. COME HOME. But besides missing her, dad had a mind that wouldn’t stop creating worse case scenarios. Worse on him I would say as Buffy finally rallied. Dad...not so much.
We all know that Reuben puts on his tough guy façade. But this is proof that he's just a big ol' mush when it comes to his big sister Rachel. It's okay, Roo, we all love you just the same.
This made me cry, it was so sweet, I remember when my youngest Son went into the Military Air Force and his cat little bit would stare at his bedroom door, it always made me so sad, love and hugs from Indiana

When my Dad was in college back in the 20's his 18y.o. Pitbull got in dad's closet,pulled a shirt off of a hanger,dragged it down to the kitchen and made a little nest for himself behind the wood-burning stove,and slept there every night,with Grandma changing the shirt every week. Reuben misses Rachael for sure,but she will love thisnvid.

Little man is pining for his sister :( I went off for the Aussie's year overseas to Europe when I was still young, and when I got back Dallas, he was half Rottweiler half Labrador - a big black gorgeous pupper - leaned heavily against me and just shook - and almost twenty year's later it still hurts my heart when I think back to that moment. Puppers don't really understand or approve of everyone getting on with their lives - if it were up to Rub Number One Daughter wouldn't be going off to no stinking college, she would be staying right at home with her pack and Rub, like she ought! :)
Nice to get my Reuben fix. Makes me miss my Diesel even more. I had to put Diesel down on 8/13/20. He started refusing his food and stomach looking bloated. Vet visit revealed tumor in his stomach had burst. Bullies steal our hearts and leave us way to soon. Thanks Reuben for helping me remember what little clowns you bullies are.
I have three kids. Was a stay at home mom....was so hard to send them off to universities and the us army. Now....those three kids are in two different states. Gosh....I feel Roo’s pain. Miss my kids soooooo much!
