    Wat maak je toch een fijne video’s met je heldere uitleg van wat je gaat doen. Ondanks tegenslag vordert het werk gestaag. ❤️

    Some advice regarding the electrics, plumming and bathroom, you need to hire certified craftpeople to do that othervise if something happens the insurance will NOT pay.

    Glad to see multiple apple trees as they need to cross-pollinate. Perhaps the other fruit trees as well? You will love the shade and the fruit in a few years. Beautiful lovely living room area. Gardens are tough particularly when you break new ground as you are. I am hoping you talk with locals about what grows at your latitude. Also, I would love to see you do a video on driving into the closest village/town. It is lovely to know a bit about shopping and supplies--obviously timber and other renovation items are about.

      Hi! The other fruit trees come in pairs as well. Hope it will give us lots of fruits in the future. Thank you for watching our video and sharing your thoughts with us. Very helpful!

    Hej, normally i don`t critisize others work, but this time i have to say, for healthreason only, you forgot the vaporbarrier and that will cause you trouble because of mold caused of moisture wich gets into your insulation. Instead of a plasticfoil you can also use OSB as a vaporbarrier. This can cause severe health problems to you and your family. Otherwise you do a good job in your renovation process. Thanks for sharing.

      Hi! Thanks for your message and concerns! We are aware of the missing vapor barrier. Unfortunately we were misinformed by the hardware store. However, the small house will be used by us this winter, but next winter we hope to live in the big house. The small house will only be used during summer by friends and family. We hope it will not give us trouble. If so, we will have to remove the roof plates and the cladding and add vapor barrier anyway, but let's not get ahead of things and hope it will turn out okay.

    You need to put moisture barrier or you will get mold in the insulation.. alt use Hunton woodfibre insulation..

    • @karencurley4293
      @karencurley4293 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Maybe the insulation is mineral wool.
      “Because of its greater density and water resistant properties, mineral wool acts as a vapor barrier and, unlike fiberglass, does not need an additional vapor barrier to be effective.”

    • @miccet
      @miccet ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@karencurley4293 It's glasswool, says so on the packaging.

    • @Fiskarenify
      @Fiskarenify ปีที่แล้ว

      That's exactly the problem, that it's mineral wool. The warm moist air condenses between the insulation and the wood, if you had wood fibre insulation it would have absorbed the moisture and transpired it through the structure, mineral wool cannot do that. You simply trap moisture, which is why you need to have a moisture barrier or a material that breathes.@@karencurley4293

    • @Fiskarenify
      @Fiskarenify ปีที่แล้ว

      That's exactly the problem, Mineral wool insulation, i.e. rock wool or glass wool, has no hygroscopic ability - it cannot absorb and release moisture. Condensation can flow right through and accumulate in places where it is difficult to dry out. Wood fibre insulation, on the other hand, can absorb the moisture and "breathe" it out.
      Mineral wool is open to diffusion and does not act as a moisture barrier@@karencurley4293

    Nou, jullie vallen wel in de prijzen met de ongelooflijke hoeveelheid sneeuw deze winter. Ben benieuwd hoe jullie dat beleven en waaraan je moet denken wanneer je een paar dagen de deur niet uitkomt.En hoe reageren de buren? Komen ze wel eens kijken of is dat niet aan de orde. En hebben jullie überhaupt tijd voor wat sociale contacten? Hartelijke groet, Willemien ( moeder van Evelien)

    • @buildaway
      @buildaway  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Als we zien dat er veel sneeuw aankomt slaan we nog snel boodschappen in. We hebben ook een noodvoorraad voor als het een keer echt erg is. We gaan leren of we hiermee de winter door komen. De buren zijn heel aardig. We lopen de deur niet plat bij elkaar, maar een koffie kan altijd. Ook maken ze afwisselend onze eigen weg vrij van sneeuw zodat we niet insneeuwen. Beter een goede buur dan een verre vriend gast zeker op in Zweden 😉 De afgelopen maanden hebben we ons voornamelijk gericht op het verbouwen en minder op (nieuwe) sociale contacten, maar dat gaan we de komende tijd anders doen is het plan.

      @buildaway  ปีที่แล้ว

      You're right 👍 Should have used the vapor barrier indeed. We're misinformed by the hardware store and in a bit of a rush. We hope it will be ok because the small house will be used as a summer house for friends and family. We will do this differently in the big house.

    Leuke video's. Prachtige omgeving en mooie klussen. Ik zie dat je bij het isoleren wel folie aan de buitenzijde gebruikt maar niet aan de binnenzijde. Is dat bewust? Vaak komt het meeste vocht van binnenuit de woning en die wil je niet in je isolatie hebben.

    • @buildaway
      @buildaway  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey bedankt voor je bericht! Het folie had eigenlijk wel gemoeten. Omdat het een zomerhuisje gaat zijn, laten we het voor nu zo. Bij het grote huis doen we het anders.

    they would help you stock up with firewod and save you money.

    I'm curious if you were affected by the heavy snowfall of a few weeks ago in Sweden and Norway?
    Which region are you actually in?
    Small tip, use Torx instead of Philips screws so that the bit does not slip so easily. I enjoy watching your videos and I hope they can generate some extra income for the renovation of the big house.

    • @buildaway
      @buildaway  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There was a lot of snow indeed. We're on the line of Oslo Stockholm. I do really want torx, and used it almost exclusively in the Netherlands, but it's not so easy to buy in our area.
