Paloma Faith is one of my favorite singers... This is a difficult song to sing because of the extreme high notes, Paloma didn't want to do the song because she felt her voice wouldn't be able to go that high but Diane Warren (the woman who wrote it for her) insisted she put it on her CD, it won Paloma Faith a Brit Award which is similar to our Grammy's. I think Kelly did a wonderful job singing, I'd like to hear her song it in it's entirety. I just adore Kelly Clarkson.

I was binge watching all the "Only love can hut like this" auditions. 😂 I saw many but couldn't bear to stay till the end. The voices were so strained, but immediately, i saw Kelly i knew i won't be disappointed. I wish it was longer❤

I heard this for the the first time the other day...I am obsessed. I never heard of Paloma either. I thought this was a "new" song...surprise...ithe song is 7+ years old. Kelly...we NEED the full version and IF you could sing it with Paloma...we would be so appreciative.

she’s not belting. belting is a technical term for yelling-singing in order to hit notes (which is not good technique) kelly doesn’t belt.

Well making music means you have to go promote it, often touring is involved or at least doing some performances at various (talk) shows. And she has a family, maybe she prefers to focus on her talk show and not travel too much so she can be around her kids.

Also this song was highly produced in studio and the live version was underwhelming. I think that is the reason she didn't reach this side of the world.

I've seen Kelly do many performances, & everytime I see her up on that stage belting out a song, she always has this brilliant sparkle shining brightly in her eyes, which are so full of emotion. It's what Tyra Banks called "Smize" (smile with your eyes) or Smizing (smiling with your eyes).
But here, Kelly just looks dead in the eyes, like she's not even there, or her mind has wondered off somewhere else. Surely I'm not the only one that sees that she is showing virtually no emotions at all while singing this.

Oh I'm so sorry that you can't properly read english. That must really stink not to be able to understand what someone else has said. But it's really sad when you make yourself look like a fool because of it, since I never said anything about her mouth similing. Believe it or not, yes you can show emotions when singing sad songs, since sadness is itself an emotion after all.
I said she doesn't have the normal brilliant sparkle that shines so brightly in her EYES like she usually has. Which is what Tyra Banks coined as the word "SMIZE", or "SMIZING".
If you don't know what those words mean, even though I already told you in my original comment. Then I would suggest you check out urbandictionary.com in whatever your primary language is. That way you can get a definition for the words "Smize" & "Smizing" in the language you best understand, since it's obviously not English. You might check out what the word emotions means as well. As there is such a vast infinite number of emotions that one can express, including when singing a sad, depressing, or downtrodden song.

Also I have to disagree with you that this is a sad hurtful song. To me it's a beautiful happy song. Because love hurts no matter how beautiful & great it is, or how aweful & heartbreaking it is.
The song isn't about heartbreak though, just pain. Which like I said all love is painful, in many different ways.
Mother's love their kids, but it's painful when they see them fail, it doesn't mean that their child broke their heart though, or hurt them. It's also painful to watch them grow up and leave the home, but it still doesn't mean their child hurt them.
A couple can be together for 70 years, they were always happy together and loved each other deeply, but one eventually passes away, and it's painful for the one still alive. It doesn't mean that the dead one hurt the one still alive though.
There are bunches more scenarios just like that.
