    Love your content, glad you got some sanding practice at Robbie's. I would be interested in a fuel mileage number along the way as power goes up. My bone stock 93 D250 automatic gets about 24 just running around with an empty truck. I've purchased some power parts but the truck runs so good I'm hesitant to upgrade the power. Keep up the great videos.

      I’m the same way. I pull a gooseneck of cattle every once in a while so I’d really like 6-800 torque as it makes these hills easier but I haven’t had any issues with the motor so I am hesitant as well. My thinking is when I have to rebuild around 350-400k I’ll add power but I’m along ways away since I’m only at 160k miles 😂😂

    Tim you've become one of the mainstay and goto channels for the Cummins Fans ! Great Videos ! one suggestion ! Have you ever considered a Laser pointer for pointing out hard to reach and see areas for the videos ? I to would be interested in the as you go in the build Data if you've been documenting it ! Such as Fuel milage drivability ! Keep having fun sharing it with the rest of us !

    It's funny that anytime people ask about making 400+ horsepower with their 12v engine, they immediately get told to go with a p-pump. I've even seen a guy post that the VE pump is only good for about 250-300 hp! I can't wait to see the rest of these videos Tim. I'm only shooting for about 450 hp myself, but I do hope you hit that 600 hp mark on a VE pump.

    • @decentgarage
      @decentgarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep this is the only reason I want to do it. I hate the constant recommendation of "just ppump it". When I talked to Greg A about doing this he was shocked that I was shooting for that number fuel only. BTW he is in on this competition!

    Love your videos Tim. I've been anxiously waiting for this series. It seems as if everybody thinks they have to have a p pump to build power in a 12 valve. I personally think the ve pump is more drivable and torque is smoother. I'm curious to see if it retains those characteristics as you build power. Thanks for being down to earth and somebody we can all relate to. God bless!

    Did you win that second game of checkers ? LOL ! SOOO I learned that a gas engine you have to put air into the cylinder , But Diesel you just get the piston to top dead center to change the valve springs, Very cool !

    • @decentgarage
      @decentgarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That footage was too brutal to include 😂. You can put pressurized air in to the cylinders on a diesel as well. This method is just easier if you don't have the custom cylinder chuck.

The exotic pedistals were on sale for $125 so it was a no brainer to just go that route. But now I've got a set to get milled for the next time I do head studs.
