"The Hunter Gets Captured by the Game" is a cover by Massive Attack, featuring the vocals of Tracey Thorn, originally performed by The Marvelettes in 1966 and written by Smokey Robinson. It appeared on the soundtrack for the film Batman Forever (1995).

See, if they ever made a Big O Live Action series...this song would work. 1)Because it's a song from Batman. 2)Would be a great Bond opening song. 3)Big O is basically if Bruce Wayne was Batman....Also the animation company that did the last season of Batman the Animated series did Big O.

@trip1hop1991bristol Massive Attack released the album "Obelisk" in 2008, but if I remember this song was also on the soundtrack of Batman Forever in 1995..
I still remember the very first time I heard this song. I was working on a paper for my college, very late at night, I went online looking for some info, and I read that Steve Irwin had just passed away. Thinking it was fake news I stumbled upon a blog about his life and tragic death, at the end of the page there was a link to this song. It's sad to think that I'll always link this song to that tragic day.

This song basically described what happened with me at a bar/pub last weekend during a casual interaction between myself and a gorgeous stranger who resembled, and sounded exactly like the actress Delilah Cotto. It was when she said she was still married and I put down my restraint that she fell even harder. I dont mess with married women, no matter how hot they are. My struggle inside was tough, but nowhere near as tough as hers. She cold approached me, so therefore the hunter got captured by the game. Cheers. Always loved this song.

I really like this version. Never heard it before (not a big Batman fan) but the darkness of the rendition would suit the mood of the film. I have loved the original by The Marvelettes for yonks, and it suited Wanda's jazzy voice, but this is awesome.

I think that someplace somewhen, some new best version of this will arrive. It's not a easy song to do well, and every one tricks it out. Even Smokey, even the Marvellettes, even Jerry Garcia. Maybe it should be redone in a lower register for the lead.

I agree, I find the original boring and bland as if the instrumentation/vocals (while good quality as the marvelettes had a good unison of voices) and the theme of the song don't go together. thougha much more rare case sometimes covers surpass the original.
TarantulaCandy - Sometimes cover versions do surpass the original song, this is not one of those times. Tracie's voice doesn't approach the suggestive sexuality of Wanda Young's voice, sorry.
