Also keeping in mind that this entire series exists as a pretense to justify a tabletop game about perpetual never-ending war. So the status quo will be maintained as long as that group of fans can be milked. So basically at 21:24 the Emperor decided to summon the Stellaris equivalents of the Tyranids, the Forces of Chaos, and the Men of Iron all at once. Good thing he didn't do event fallen_empires_awakening.1, that would've caused the Necrons to awaken and restart the War in Heaven.
That would have been awesome. I actually find the War in Heaven to be scarier than the crisis, but that's mostly because I'm used to the old updates, back when decadence wasn't a thing and they just steamrolled everyone if you didn't murder Awakened Empires quickly enough.

One of my best experiences playing Stellaris was a roleplay session where I was a nation of fanatic purifiers who'd had their planet nearly annihilated by a slaver empire that stole the majority of their population. We adapted and survived on the near-dead rock and built an immense fleet to purge the cosmos. Once I'd annihilated both Marauder factions, I changed ethics to no longer be Fanatic Xenophobe and just became a massive isolationist empire, as our people had been avenged. Then we were the only force strong enough to stand against the endgame crisis.
Modded, if such. If you select fanatical purifiers, you can't change that while the game is in progress. The POINT is you are to fanatical to change your mind. Ever.

Eh, 40k has the Age of Apostasy, the war of the Beast, the Horus Heresy, and more events. The plot moving on is not an issue. Destroying the setting by having Chaos or Tyranids win is. There will always be more battles, new heroes, more technology, and a future ahead. The "bad" guys can win, and they can win big, but it has to be balanced with a glimmer of hope for the other side to regroup and return.
I love how ROGAL and VULKAN called kitten playstyle boring. That has to be the worst insult ever. The most bland and friendliest lifeform calling you boring. Ouch.

The men of iron event is a thing, The machiens -can- rebel. The war in heaven has the Fallen empires waking up, this can include the Extreme Militarists. Chaos can happen, The Shroud has many secrets that will END THE FUCKING CYCLE. Tyranids technically exist as a crisis already, with the bio-scourge. Necrons too in a way, robots trying to cleanse all life.

'End of the Cycle would be thematically appropreate. But the truth is? A: in the current balance you can OBLITERATE it with carriers (it only has impressive shields) B: it's targeting is terrible so swarms of Corvettes can hold it down for years. C: it's AI is toasted too. D: Outside of the one empire getting deleted: it's mostly harmless. It REALLY could do with a buff to get it back to the level of some of the more terrifying entities in the galaxy. And probably a bonus ability to summon planet extermination warp entities/infinite armies would be needed. It WOULD be hilarious but it's actually weaker than the Khanate. Also unreasonably difficult to trigger it to proc. Personally the Eater of Worlds would be a more fun event chain. That or the Worm in Waiting.

i have a question for the warhammer fan. Fantasy and 40K. If i remember end time in fantasy is a shitstorm everyone hated. And currently the 40K setting recently came out of it's perpetual stasis and seems moving toward it's own version of the end time. Is this what the necroid not-deciever is referencing here ? The writer aiming to screw everything in order to retcon the whole verse ? Is he being meta ?

@@smile-tl9in Yeah, the Deciever here actually represents a section of the 40k fan base, who are now absolutely terrified of lore progression of any kind due to The End Times, and also how they handled AoS, so a lot of people actually would rather keep 40k as it currently is, unresolved plot holes and all, rather than “go straight down the End Times pit”
Also keeping in mind that this entire series exists as a pretense to justify a tabletop game about perpetual never-ending war.

That would have been awesome. I actually find the War in Heaven to be scarier than the crisis, but that's mostly because I'm used to the old updates, back when decadence wasn't a thing and they just steamrolled everyone if you didn't murder Awakened Empires quickly enough.

One of my best experiences playing Stellaris was a roleplay session where I was a nation of fanatic purifiers who'd had their planet nearly annihilated by a slaver empire that stole the majority of their population. We adapted and survived on the near-dead rock and built an immense fleet to purge the cosmos. Once I'd annihilated both Marauder factions, I changed ethics to no longer be Fanatic Xenophobe and just became a massive isolationist empire, as our people had been avenged. Then we were the only force strong enough to stand against the endgame crisis.
Modded, if such. If you select fanatical purifiers, you can't change that while the game is in progress. The POINT is you are to fanatical to change your mind. Ever.

Eh, 40k has the Age of Apostasy, the war of the Beast, the Horus Heresy, and more events. The plot moving on is not an issue. Destroying the setting by having Chaos or Tyranids win is. There will always be more battles, new heroes, more technology, and a future ahead. The "bad" guys can win, and they can win big, but it has to be balanced with a glimmer of hope for the other side to regroup and return.

Necrons too in a way, robots trying to cleanse all life.

@@anonguy772 No, you see, Exile is there because Eldad and the gang *already* summoned the End of the Cycle earlier, before the game was set up.
'End of the Cycle would be thematically appropreate.
But the truth is? A: in the current balance you can OBLITERATE it with carriers (it only has impressive shields)
B: it's targeting is terrible so swarms of Corvettes can hold it down for years.
C: it's AI is toasted too.
D: Outside of the one empire getting deleted: it's mostly harmless.
It REALLY could do with a buff to get it back to the level of some of the more terrifying entities in the galaxy. And probably a bonus ability to summon planet extermination warp entities/infinite armies would be needed.
It WOULD be hilarious but it's actually weaker than the Khanate.
Also unreasonably difficult to trigger it to proc.
Personally the Eater of Worlds would be a more fun event chain.
That or the Worm in Waiting.
