- I had a Technics Hifi separates system given to me with a broken lead for the CD player and I could not test the tape deck as I have not owned a tape for years.
I used a Bluetooth device to turn it into a Bluetooth receiver.

I've had mine from new.. Been alot of years and mine is still like brand new, also putting Bluetooth on mine and going to see what else I can get to upgrade it because its one of the most reliable systems I've ever had

Still, I love my old sound system. Brought from 2002 brand new from comet - still pumping nicely right now. I did add a car amp for extra sub woofer ✌🏾
for better sound quality turn on the super sound eq and the digital s.woofer on max

RCA from the sky box to the hifi is a bit delayed, I even brought a optical to analogue but the sound quality wasn't the greatest.
@@j-d4307 just used a standard aux cable from my sky box to the system work fine no delay or audio difference
I had a friend with the same set up but he hooked a headphone jack to his TV to the system and switched the system to aux and that worked just as well
Hi, thanks for the quick reply, you say aux cable? Is that just the eve from the sky box to the hifi (red and black/white?)
If so you would have to use the remote for the hifi to control the volume correct? And also mute the tv volume output?
@@j-d4307 no worries! Yes it's just red and white cable and yes that's how mine works with controlling the audio
I still have my Technics system which looks the same as yours but it's a 5 dvd changer. I used it with my first wide-screen TV which could fit the centre speaker on top. It must be 20 or more years old now but still in great condition. Brilliant sound.

Great system, uncle gave me it over a year ago as he doesn’t use them, I only have the front speaker but they’re good so I don’t need the rest, I use a red and a white cable to connect to aux and can also plug my Amazon echo into it for Bluetooth, great sounding speakers, I disconnected the DVD and tape sections to save space

@@claudiugeorge5445 it sounds good on Bluetooth, hardly any difference just wireless so you don’t need your device as close to it
im using the red and white cable for aux too but the audio isnt as loud as it is on the radio.. any idea why?

Speakers are hard to find these days. They also got aux out if you want to plug into a sound bar or headphone jack if you want plug into a 2.1 surround. Plug or bluetooth your PC in and you can play from spotify and Tunein on win 10 or 11.

Thanks for making this video. Loving the channel name. 😀 I've just set this up but I can't increase the volume. Bluetooth to my car stereo volume works fine. In this setup, I can only turn the volume down on the hi-fi but not up. (Past 0) Anyone have any ideas?

IF you are I m after a bit of advice re a slight variation on the system you had - the SH DV170. Looks exactly the same as the one in your video.
I m looking to see if there is anyway of blutoothing from the amp output to the speakers, so to get rid of the miles of cable I currently have to use if I want it as a surround sound system as it is?
Do you know of any adapter to "new" BT speakers that are out there?

Do you find that the AUX input has very low volume?
I have this setup but if I play anything via AUX I really have to crank it up and it don't go very loud.
If I play a CD then it's fine.
I haven't had the system for years so I can't remember if it was quiet or not 👍🏼
If it's a turntable it could be because it's not amplified.

Hi mate, great video. I've got one of these stereos but I've got a setting that I can't get out of. It's in DEMO mode. Do you know how to get it out of this. Meaning what buttons I need to press? When I turn the stereo off, after a few seconds, it comes back on in the Demo mode. Hoping you can help me with this. Thanks in advance.

In your amplifier theres a clock/timer -demo button. Press the button until it says "no demo"

It's been some time since I had this hifi system but I think it sounded similar to Aux but that also depends on which Bluetooth device you use.
How do you actually pair the Bluetooth device..
I think you just pair it with your phone, but I made this video years ago so my recollection is a bit vague.

i've just inherited one of these.....i can't get any sound out of the small speakers at all while playing the radio or cd's despite them being plugged in the correct holes...any ideas?
Have you tried the dsp control buttons?

Hi there nice video. I was given a set of the small speakers and one of the main speakers yesterday . I wonder if I can attach the small silver ones to my old technics hd301 in the garage. I think that the little ones are 8 ohms and the normal 301 speakers are 6 ohms? I could try but don't want to blow anything! Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance
8 ohms will be easier load for the amplifier compared to 6 so theoretically it would be drawing less power. That's the best answer Ii can give.

why would anyone give you that free? the sound you get from these things is as good as anyting you get today i paid 700 pounds sterling
It had been in storage for a few years and was originally covered in dust and mould.
My husband bought this very long ago. How I wish I know how to connect it with DVD player that has USB so I can enjoy modern music with my flash drive. 😭

It only receives Bluetooth so i don't think Bluetooth headphones would work.
How do i manage the remote of this system. What is the number of the remote.does universal remote works on it.
Sorry I can't help you as I do not the hi-fi system anymore. I made the video 2 years ago so my memory of the system is pretty vague.

Hi, yes I used a ugreen Bluetooth audio receiver and is around £15 on eBay, it works great and have had no trouble with it.

Hey bacon, you're awesome. Can i ask you a question, i have a different model to yours, i have the SC-DV290. This unit has a 5 DVD changer on it, it says "Dolby Digital" and "DTS" on it, so i presume this part of the hifi has the decoders for those 2 things built into it. Now, I actually think i can play DVD's from this thing.. somehow. I'm wondering, could you be an even more great guy and check for me to see if i need a separate DVD player to plug this thing into. On the back of it, the only connectors are an Svideo plug hole, and the Yellow hold from what i presue is an RCA video cable. Basically what i want to know is, what cable would i need to plug this thing into my TV with, S video to ... what? And do i actually need an external DVD player in the middle? to daisychain, and this thing just adds 5 more DVD slots for it to play from or? ugh Thanks for reading brother
S video is only for picture and not audio if I remember correctly and Yellow RCA is video only as well? So yellow RCA to HDMI adapter should give you a picture on you tv

@@boogiestreet594 it's only video, no sound. The sound would come from the DVD through your hifi if it's built in
@@boogiestreet594 If you put a DVD in your Hifi then the sound should come through all your hifi speakers. If you then get a RCA ( yellow plug) to HDMI adapter then you should be able to get a picture on your TV as well. The yellow RCA will only output a video signal .

So i had no picture, but i was able to press play, the sgtar war movie started, sound was incredible... one problem though, when there's no noise, and i have the sound up a bit, closr to the speakers i can hear the usual baclground hiss. should that be present in dolby digital? this is supposed to be a fantastic system
