- The variety of green beans we are growing is strike green beans and jade green beans.
The strike are very heavy producers and a few plants can easily feed a family of four.

Does my heart good to see Mr. H looking so fit and joyous!
I just got in from my last garden chore of loading and setting up another pair of 55 gallon water barrels for our potable water and irrigation storage. Heating up a piece of the quiche I made yesterday from ALL my OWN garden produce and my own eggs. The cream came from my neighbor, but I bartered garden produce for the fresh milk. I even used some of my home grown mushrooms! I added a salad of tomatoes, cucumbers, and carrots from my garden. Tastes like BLESSINGS.
A job well done, you two. Hugs and cheer from Texas.

Just a word of advice on that cucumber surplus ... I just dehydrated a bunch of them and turned them into powder to add to soups and such. They are loaded with wonderful B vitamins and minerals so when you add a spoonful of the powder to your dishes, you are just ramping up the nutrition not to mention a lovely flavor in the background that'll keep 'em guessing. Enjoy a great harvest!

Could you do another video on the turkeys and broody Moms? I so enjoyed your comments to the vocal turkeys (because that is just about word for word I'd have said myself "I ain't talking to you!)." Plus love seeing the birds, breeds, little ones, etc. etc. And I love how you talk to the critters, knowing most of them understand far more then we think!

17 gallons is almost 2 bushels of green beans! I see a whole lot of canning in your future! Last year I canned plain green beans, balsamic green beans, green beans in ham broth, green beans and ham. We loved all of them but used mostly the plain ones because you can do whatever you have a taste for! The Jades are my favorite flavored green bean!

So glad to see the both of you together in the garden! I can on average over a hundred quarts of green beans each year. We use two quarts a week with a family of seven. Happy canning!

My beefsteaks were huge this year as well. Much larger than a softball. GREAT tomato sandwich tomatoes. Great to see Mr. H back out in the garden.
