Great video! I agree with you about the empty spacing on the queue line. I wish they would’ve utilized those spaces to make it seem as if you could see other Tron “games” going on, or you could see other “programs” watching and interacting with the people on lines.
Love how you speak the honest straight truth. Virtual Lines have added such stress to our trips. We are Floridians and out of the last attempted 10 Virtual Boarding Groups we probably made it in on 2-3. Its frustrating to wake up so early and be shut-out in 60 seconds. Not remotely fun. Loved your POV on Tron and all your personal insights on your trip.
Nice video, Dev, been watching you for a couple years and enjoy the content! We had an opportunity to ride Tron twice on a recent trip, by luck once in the front row and once in the back row. While the launch was better in the front, the ride in the show building was significantly better in the last row, because you could see everything that was going on. I preferred the back row for that reason. A very different experience. Also, I know we all criticize Disney for budget cutting, but the original ride in Shanghai was just as short…this was always a short ride, so it doesn’t seem like there were any budget cuts in that regard at least. Keep up the great work!
I rode it, standing under the canopy at night, in the pre show area, seeing the light show and the seeing the screaming riders overhead was my favorite part. Its way more than just a roller coaster - its a unique place, and its huge. And the Daft Punk music is killer. Tomorrowland finally has a ride that looks like a slick and cool future, not a distressed, dirty, banged up collection of space junk.
Dev you have to remember when this project was approved and starting to be built is was when Bob Paycheck was head of the parks and resorts. It’s much cheaper to clone a attraction then to change it. Right out of his playbook. By the time Iger came back it was to late to do anything about it. So We get the Shanghai version. That being said I loved this attraction. Do I like it more than Guardians, no, but it’s solid. I was so happy to have one of my favorite childhood movies finally having a permanent place in a U.S. park. My only wish for this attraction was, like everyone else, should be longer.
The first time I got on I sat in the backseat and other than the take-off I didn't find it that exciting a cast member gave us some magical moment and we got to ride it again this time I sat in a regular seat and I found it more intense I did enjoy the take-off more but the ride is way too I gave it up 3 out of 5
Fantastic video thank you! We did Tron for the first time a few days ago via lightening lane, that initial launch is amazing & the lighting in the main room is impressive. We loved it & wished it was longer!
TRON is an amazing attraction that have enjoyed riding twice so far--Tuesday and Thursday and both times via the Virtual Que (with no trouble either day). Dev, I really enjoyed your review and how you described the ride. Your description was on target! And I agree, it is a short ride. We enjoyed riding on the fourth cycle, but we really, really enjoyed riding in the front the best! I'm looking forward to riding at night!!

Enjoyed your review of Tron! Fyi, Disney had influencers there this week; 3 days & 4 or 5 day cruise too. Maybe that's why you couldn't get an early queue? Most reviews of Tron I've seen weren't favorable about Tron. You guys look great. Can't wait to see your next vid. 🥰
For me, TRON is my new all-time favorite non-upside down coaster with guardians a close second. I thought the inside was very good, I think that the beginning is so awesome it overpowers the rest of the ride. Yes, it is short, but so much fun for what you get. It is the only ride I might consider breaking my strong anti-genie/lightening lane rule for.
I was going to do Mickey's not so scary Halloween party this year so I could ride Tron but at this point I'm going to skip it and just do another day at Universal Studios or Volcano Bay. I just can't justify the $200 it'll cost for tickets and Lyft to get there for a ride that's under a minute when I can ride Hagrids/Velocicoaster at no additional cost.
1:09 I played tuba in high school. I was in a voluntary summer band one year. We played brass sousaphones. Seeing those brass sousaphones makes my shoulder hurt.
I'd suggesting riding towards the back and at night, it is way better then in the daytime. Also everybody saying Tron is extremely short but every big roller coaster is typically one minute long, even Rock N Roller Coaster, Hulk and Velocicoaster believe it or not are all one minute long from the moment you launch to the moment you hit the brakes.
I guess people expected Disney to go above the norm. They really should rethink the mediocrity and give people what they want. Universal's new park hopefully will add the pressure they need to get with the program (fingers crossed)!

I rode Tron, and all you mentioned, felt I 100% agree with you. Very plain, lighting awesome but plain Q, the take off was awesome, but just like you guys, excitement was over after that, it slowed down and ended very fast. It's sad that a ride that took forever to get done and expected to be so out of this world, was Not. Disney is Not keeping up with the demand of what the public wants and needs, but does not hesitate to keep charging more for everything and giving less, very sad
Great review! Being a former Disney cast member, I was fortunate to ride the original TRON at Shanghai Disney! It was epic and well themed. I felt like I was back in the OG movie again. Sorry to heard that the WDW TRON did not live up to the Disney legacy. Keep up the great work👍
I loved the launch too... my favorite part of the ride was also the outside part. I was in the 2nd row as part of the Annual Passholder Preview. It was super fun though! I agree it was short and I was sad during the passholder preview we could only ride it once, lol. Thank you for sharing your honest thoughts and experience on the ride!
Hey dev, I was about 40 mins past my 1 hour window time to board my group. I was in group 11. I got caught in traffic on i4. They were gracious enough to let me on!
I think part of what the show building needs is an illuminated track so you have something to ground yourself among everything else going on. Speaking of immersion, the delay announcement got to me. That attention to detail is fun and special.
We rode it last Sunday ( 3/26) did the virtual cue and was placed at 26. Waited in line for an hour. For me the take off was the best part and 2nd would be when you fly past the people outside. The ride is definitely to short and I wouldn’t pay extra.
Can’t wait for you to get a night ride. Then head over to GF to watch the Tron Canopy light show. Not the closest view, but you can see both “humps”. It’s a great Disney freebie. Great video as always.

Sorry you all got stopped for so long! Our experience was much more seamless so we got lucky. I enjoyed TRON more than I thought I would and the launch/outside portion was amazing especially at night when the canopy is lit up. Once you got inside it was so so and a bit underwhelming. I rode Tron a few times. The ride in the accessible seats was more comfortable. The position you are in on the bikes is uncomfortable. Add to that you really needed to pull the bars to get them down. It was not easy. The ride was so short. Don’t blink or you will miss it. The best part of the ride is outside. I would like to ride one more time at night for that experience, but then I am good. I wouldn’t wait in line for this again. I certainly wouldn’t pay for it. Guardians is better by far.

I went to 6 flags in Atlanta in 1997 when Superman first opened. I am a rollercoaster enthusiast. I had never been to 6 flags before so was extremely excited to ride all these new to me rollercoasters. The que for Superman was completely uncovered and we were there in July. I think that was my first ever experience with heat stroke from standing in the line for Superman. It ruined the whole visit for me. I wanted to leave after the first ride but of course could not ruin the day for my family. I was extremely sick the rest of the day but stuck it out and did not ride any other ride the entire day. I just remembered saying over and over that the Florida theme parks were on another level because they would never do that. Well I guess from what you are saying this is no longer true. That disappoints me. The whole Disney experience now disappoints me. It is sad.
Honestly with how short the ride is I won't wait long for it when stand by ques open up. It was enjoyable for an employee preview but nothing I would rave about
I rode it last month for ap preview and honestly thought I'm not rushing back or fighting to get on it. I think I had a similar feeling as you. Looked cool inside but ride was short and I don't care for the bike seat. I also almost left my phone in the locker bc it's so dark you can see the other side. Food wasn't open yet so I'll try that next time. Ride.. eh. Not rushing back, which is a shame. Guardians was far better.
TRON is a copy and paste from Shanghai, the ride is exactly the same in terms of length. The only major difference is Shanghai's lockers are outside of the ride building and MK's locker system is a big improvement.
We are fellow passholders as well and overall, was disappointed with Tron. The outside part of the ride is amazing, but once you are inside nothing happens. The length of the ride is so short too, which is a bummer when you are waiting for spending money for a minute. I think the inside will age poorly due to the lack of design, but also the few random posters inside. We just got back from TDR and you can really see the difference in quality between the parks. I wish you guys would have did the very back bikes, apparently that’s the best seats. Since it makes it longer and the bikes in front of you light up. You also get to see the visuals longer
It was near impossible for us too. We caught an L on the ph previews and kept tried almost everyday after. Finally got to ride it on Wednesday! Got front row. It was so good!

I just wish they lengthen the ride for like 20 seconds more. The initial launch was the best part. It's even better than the Velocicoaster launch. I guess the way you are positioned adds a different and more intense feeling to it.
@@patrickcutter6811 i stand by what I said. I have ridden Velocicoaster plenty of times. The sensation is just different cause you're in a bike position as opposed to just sitting. Obviously Velocicoaster is a better ride overall but Tron's launch hits different. If you don't wanna believe me just head on to Hoop-dee-doo and eat some ribs.

Feels a bit odd, my first Disney cruise was actually back in 1987 onboard the Starship Oceanic! I have also salied on the Starship Majestic and the Starship Atlantic, all were "Disney Cruises" that were operated by Premiere Cruise Lines before Disney built there own ships. I was on the second sailing of the Magic just after launch and have not been back onba DCL since. Now Im a big Virgin Voyages fan.... lol. Couldnt be more different!
We are new DVC members and I plan on taking advantage of the extended evening hours to try the 6 pm selection. It is very frustrating with the virtual line if you know you only have one day in a particular park.
The reason for the long line for the accessible seats is due to calves not being able to fit on the regular bike style. There is not much wiggle room with the bar that comes down across the calf. I unfortunately will have to use the bucket seat due to that reason.
The ride once you go back into the show building is a little better if you are further back on the train. You can use the lights from the bikes in front of you to give you a sense of direction.
Interesting- I rode Sunday & Wednesday with no delay or issues. (Rode car on Sunday & bike on Wednesday - I had issues with my calves on Wednesday as well)
I was extremely underwhelmed with this ride. The theming was minimal and the ride wasn't thrilling. I was hoping for a big drop or something. We waited an hour in the virtual que.
Disney always said it was going to be like the other Tron. If Tron would have opened before GOTG then it wouldn't be compared to it so much. MK has the most rides as is right now and it's the main family park, so I don't think they would put something in that was over the top that families couldn't do together. There's plenty to do at MK. The virtual queue isn't going to be full capacity right now, it's still in soft opening, same for the merch. Part of the queue is in a shaded area with fans. Just the extended queue is in the sun, but it is brutal in that part. They should have put the accessible seat on each train, I agree.
I always like watching you for your honest reviews. I feel that so many just like to hype it up with no thought behind it. Keep up the great work.

Took years to build a ride that doesn’t last 2 mins. Absolute joke. Disney has gone downhill.
I got to ride it last week. I sat in one of the upright seats in back of the train while my husband rode on a bike. We both loved it!

Food wasn't open yet so I'll try that next time. Ride.. eh. Not rushing back, which is a shame. Guardians was far better.
TRON is a copy and paste from Shanghai, the ride is exactly the same in terms of length. The only major difference is Shanghai's lockers are outside of the ride building and MK's locker system is a big improvement.
We are fellow passholders as well and overall, was disappointed with Tron. The outside part of the ride is amazing, but once you are inside nothing happens. The length of the ride is so short too, which is a bummer when you are waiting for spending money for a minute. I think the inside will age poorly due to the lack of design, but also the few random posters inside. We just got back from TDR and you can really see the difference in quality between the parks. I wish you guys would have did the very back bikes, apparently that’s the best seats. Since it makes it longer and the bikes in front of you light up. You also get to see the visuals longer
It was near impossible for us too. We caught an L on the ph previews and kept tried almost everyday after. Finally got to ride it on Wednesday! Got front row. It was so good!

Sadly I dont think I will get to ride Tron as the seats dont look very size friendly & i have knee issues.

I just wish they lengthen the ride for like 20 seconds more. The initial launch was the best part. It's even better than the Velocicoaster launch. I guess the way you are positioned adds a different and more intense feeling to it.

@@patrickcutter6811 i stand by what I said. I have ridden Velocicoaster plenty of times. The sensation is just different cause you're in a bike position as opposed to just sitting. Obviously Velocicoaster is a better ride overall but Tron's launch hits different. If you don't wanna believe me just head on to Hoop-dee-doo and eat some ribs.

Feels a bit odd, my first Disney cruise was actually back in 1987 onboard the Starship Oceanic! I have also salied on the Starship Majestic and the Starship Atlantic, all were "Disney Cruises" that were operated by Premiere Cruise Lines before Disney built there own ships. I was on the second sailing of the Magic just after launch and have not been back onba DCL since. Now Im a big Virgin Voyages fan.... lol. Couldnt be more different!
We are new DVC members and I plan on taking advantage of the extended evening hours to try the 6 pm selection. It is very frustrating with the virtual line if you know you only have one day in a particular park.
I so wish this would come to Disneyland. Unfortunately, I won't go to Florida to ride it. Just have to enjoy youtube videos.
These lockers are WAY better than hagrids lockers.
The reason for the long line for the accessible seats is due to calves not being able to fit on the regular bike style. There is not much wiggle room with the bar that comes down across the calf. I unfortunately will have to use the bucket seat due to that reason.
The ride once you go back into the show building is a little better if you are further back on the train. You can use the lights from the bikes in front of you to give you a sense of direction.
Interesting- I rode Sunday & Wednesday with no delay or issues. (Rode car on Sunday & bike on Wednesday - I had issues with my calves on Wednesday as well)
I was extremely underwhelmed with this ride. The theming was minimal and the ride wasn't thrilling. I was hoping for a big drop or something. We waited an hour in the virtual que.
6/10. Without launch, 3.5/10.
Tron Merch will not be available until the official opening next week! I'm looking forward to see what will be offered!
Disney always said it was going to be like the other Tron. If Tron would have opened before GOTG then it wouldn't be compared to it so much. MK has the most rides as is right now and it's the main family park, so I don't think they would put something in that was over the top that families couldn't do together. There's plenty to do at MK. The virtual queue isn't going to be full capacity right now, it's still in soft opening, same for the merch. Part of the queue is in a shaded area with fans. Just the extended queue is in the sun, but it is brutal in that part. They should have put the accessible seat on each train, I agree.
For everyone that said it's to much blank space, I'm curious to know what you would like to see there? For me maybe some more references to the movie
