Almoravid is my first take on Campaign and Levy series. When I first skimmed the rulebook, my first thought was what the heck is going on here. I don't understand any of this. Watching this video and it all makes sense. Thank you very much for this tutorial. Very good job!
Hats off to you Jean Michel, an excellent explanation of a complex but rich and deep game which has greatly accelerated my knowledge and enjoyment of it. Well done!
JeanMichelGrosjeu explains rules precisely how I need them presented, going over important rules from multiple angles and underlining tough-to-remember exceptions or special cases. Bravo!
1:32:20 "each hit from the attacker must roll (4) or lower to pass through" should be instead "each hit from the attacker can be cancelled by defender with a roll (4) or lower)"
Thanks to you I was able to play Nevsky and I made some great memories with my best friend. I just bought this game because you made this tutorial. You are the best, if you keep making these as this series rolls out I will keep buying them. Plus you're French accent is awesome.
Merci, fantastic video! Love your work but I think there is one glaring error when you describe the effect of walls and siegeworks on hits. You say for example that the attacker has to roll 4 or less to get through the walls but actually it's the other way around 1-4 is the walls protection roll rating and hits will fail when rolled in that range. Similarly you say the defender has to roll lower than or equal the number of siegeworks, if that were true then it would be easier to get a hit through the more siegeworks an attacker had.
Bravissimo!! Merci, thanks & gracias! This is not just a great Almoravid game explanation, it is in fact the best game explanation I have ever found. Impressive from all and every point of view! Bravo!!
Thank you soo much for doing this, i probably wouldn't have gotten through this or Nevsky if it wasn't for you. Hope you will continue doing this. Bit sad that there's so many games you've only done in French that I'll never be able to enjoy.
I may be mistaken, by the rulling on walls th-cam.com/video/n4HdY16_mI4/w-d-xo.html is incorrect. The roll on walls (range 1-4) cancels hit (per 4.4.2 Roll Walls). Each sucseful roll cancels one hit.
Will you make a chart for maybe the control taifa, strongholds etc. part und upload it on bgg like you did for successors? Btw you really helped me out for successors. Thanks for your great and precisive work. 👍
Thanks for this. I have Nevsky, and I really enjoy it... almost as much as I enjoyed your tutorials for it... and after watching this, I don't feel I need this too. Thanks for helping me make a decision on it :)
Completely torn on this one. It looks much better than Nevsky but I don't like the political aspect at all. It introduces another layer that I could frankly do without. I heard complains about balance in Nevsky and now I'm on the fence.
there's ton of rules added due to the Taifa system being so complicated*. I think for me, the worst part is granular approach to combat - it's just to slow comparing to the rest of the game. Faster (roll with modifiers combat) would be much more suitable for game of such scale. Now it feels like every battle is a complete complete stop of any flow you had during the round. *Once you internalise & thing of it as representation of each region in context of thier independence characteristic it gets better. Charts from Jean help a lot as well :)

Jean Michel, if you ever come to Firenze or in Tuscany let me know. I owe you at least one dinner with a good bottle of wine for this video!
I think I waited for this video with more anticipation than the game, You're the reason I even made it through Nevsky!
This is probably the best rules explanation video that I have seen. Well done!
Incredible. Maybe the best tutorial I have ever seen. Thanks a lot.

Impeccable. Absolutely amazing rules video. Can’t thank you enough.
JeanMichelGrosjeu explains rules precisely how I need them presented, going over important rules from multiple angles and underlining tough-to-remember exceptions or special cases. Bravo!
Hey man, I tried reading the rules which was really tough. Watching your video now makes things clear. Sent you few EURs!
Extraordinary teach. Really remarkably well done. Thank you.
Merci beaucoup, this is a great video. I don’t think I would have bought the game without it.
1:32:20 "each hit from the attacker must roll (4) or lower to pass through" should be instead "each hit from the attacker can be cancelled by defender with a roll (4) or lower)"
Amazing Video!, thank you so much for putting this together, really helps when you are learning Levy & Campaing for the first time.

Splendid work! Thank You so much for this. This helped me a lot to sort out how the game works.
Incredible work you put into this (and all) massive tutorials. Thank youuu!
Just take a quick look but this is ownderful tutorial. I should be watching in detail during my holidays. Thaks indeed for the effort!!
Thank you, merci! Very useful video to understand game details and enjoy Almoravid more and more. 👍👍👍 Bravo!
Bravissimo!! Merci, thanks & gracias! This is not just a great Almoravid game explanation, it is in fact the best game explanation I have ever found. Impressive from all and every point of view! Bravo!!
I read the rules to this game and I was lost. This video was incredibly helpful.
Dude, just found your channel, thank you so much for you're awesome work, please continue

That is correct
I'm still learning, but can't you forage at a stronghold when you are besieged if there are gardens there?
Yes, i see this error too.
He explains this rule, as you say at 2:05:05. So he hasn't ignored this rule.
Thanks so much for creating this!
When will you make a rule set for Inferno!!
excellent video, merci beaucoup!
Are you going to do a tutorial on inferno? I would love that
I won't get Inferno unless you do a tutorial :)
Merci JeanMi!
47:17 with 19 army+mules you must pay 4 provender; "GREED: Feeding Lords may discard Mules in excess of those they can Feed (only, 1.7.2)."
Merci !

Yes. I uploaded all my player aids on bgg. They just need a few hours to check them all before making them available.
@@KokoLeMakak Alright. Thanks a lot, i appreciate it a lot. 😊👍
45:08 Why discard a provender? Can Alfonso carry two provender with one cart one mule?
Amazing thank you!
Thanks for this. I have Nevsky, and I really enjoy it... almost as much as I enjoyed your tutorials for it... and after watching this, I don't feel I need this too. Thanks for helping me make a decision on it :)
We want Magic Realm! 😃
I started working on it again today... ;)
Super ... quel logiciel utilises pour les animations?
Merci.
Merci
Great video
Great video!
One thing, though: I believe a besieged Lord actually can forage if gardens are present in the stronghold. Please correct me if I'm wrong
He explains this rule, as you say at 2:05:05. So he hasn't ignored this rule.
well done !
Brilliant!
Which one in the series should I get first?
❤
And now in French 😇😇😇
Salut.
Great but why not in french anymore ?!
No worries. That's just because i'm working on Magic Realm. Almoravid will follow... ;)
