I am Thai and I can say that Thai language is not that loud. It's just that these girls are noisy - much more than usual - that's why it's unpleasant to hear. Almost every female MCs try to speak in high pitch , to make it sound 'girlish'. It annoy me as a Thai as well...lol
@Acupofhope LOL...I actually don't know why your throat hurts when speaking thai but it's not supposed to be this high-pitched, so maybe you should try to find another way of learning it. This is definitely not how they teach you to speak in school.
