    This man have a level of calmness like no other..
    I started seeing some of his lectures in search of some good information, but was stunned by his strongly calming influence. Just playing his lectures as a background noise is like a really good "anti-stress tape" =)
    That must be a highly valuable skill when working big and dangerous projects in stressful environments with a lot of people and things that can go wrong.
    "Keep calm like Evert Hoek" that should be an industry-standard =)

    I am not an engineer, but they are digging major highway tunnels near my home. I watched a couple of his tunneling lectures, and I found them fascinating, now able to understand a lot of what is being done.

    It is a wake up call to today's researchers in Tunnelling, who have no exposure to a tunnel nor they know any geology and they do numerical modelling
