I remember when I saw Slaughter, they opened for Cinderella. We didn’t have tickets to begin with, all my friends bought tickets ahead of time. I was with this one buddy, we decided “hey, let’s go check out Cinderella, I think there’s still tickets left”. So we walked up to the tickets counter, not expecting very good tickets. So we walked up to the ticket counter and asked for 2 tickets as close to the stage as you have. The ticket girl said “I have two second row center tickets available if you want them ?”. Apparently, a ticket agency cancelled. It blew my mind what luck we had that night. We were walking in towards our seats and looking up, here are all our friends yelling at us “ hey how the hell did you get those seats !!” from way up in the first bleachers. To top the night off, two of my friends were in the front row, they had backstage passes. I gave my other friend a 5 dollar bill and told her to get it signed by the bands, because I had no paper or a pen. I still have the bill, what 30 years later. Lol

It's nice to see these videos of old 80s rockers and learn how down to earth they are.

I remember meeting Blas and the guys at the Mall of America on their 3rd album. Everyone was cool, but Blas stuck out as more personable. He commented to me on how he loved my guitar necklace my mom bought for me as a Christmas gift while I was living in Hollywood in 89-90 a few years prior. I felt that cool connection with him on that. I felt bad because they were fighting the grunge wave at the time and you can tell in their faces at the time they need to win or hang it up. Then Tim died... Much love to Brother Blas and to you, Jason, for a great series of interviews from our musical peers in the greatest generation of music.

They listen to us play and I looked identical to Randy Rhoads, like his twin, and I played lead guitar and Dana kept saying how much I reminded him of Randy. Randy was my biggest influence and I asked Dana a ton of questions about Randy. He agreed that Randy was the best Rock guitarist ever.

MTV was the most revolutionary thing to hit rock since Les Paul.
MTV RULED EVERYTHING IN THE 80S. Most casual rock fans do not know (or were too stoned to remember) the 80s and how MTV influenced it all.
This is why the hard rock bands of the 70s made the pop rock stuff of the 80s.
