So, here we are, 2022, and I just started this game a couple days ago. The only time I see other players is in the "hubs" (bases). Every missions seems to allow me to invite others or look for others, via their matchmaking system. I am playing solo, and my gear is about half green and half blue, in terms of quality. Do I die a lot? Yes I do, on the boss missions. I take my time, and take a slow, tactical approach as I am moving between missions. Even in missions, I try to be as tactical as possible, but those bosses are a bastard. And the DZ? So far, I tried it once. Went in, and almost instantly got merc'd. And not by players. So I think I will save the DZ for level 30. Not sure if anyone is still wondering about a lot of the questions I see below, that are all 6 years old or older. But in case anyone was curious in 2022, that's my take on it.

Can I play survival and Underground solo?
@@rizki4603 You can, but again, take your time. If FPS games are your thing, you will probably have an easier time than I have. LOL Don't rush the DZ until you are 30-40, or higher. And expect to die, especially on the boss missions. Other than that, yes, it is something that can be solo'd. I have had a blast, but yeah, dying is a thing. :)
This had NOTHING to do with the "single player" experience. This was totally about multiplayer...
agreed. this review told me nothing I wanted to know as an Xbox one owner without a gold subscription. fine review otherwise, but as the title was about single player I'm giving a big thumbs down for the misdirection.
I played solo in the entire game so... Yeah, the question of this video is: is the solo part is good?
My response is: it is fucking dark soul with gun, but i love dark soul so it is ok

@@kumarmithilesh1886 not offline( by that , i mean you need internet) but you can play solo all the way( don't need a multiplayer pass if you are on console by the way) i did all the story alone ( and secondary mission). It just not programmed to be solo so you are next to nothing against boss if you are alone. Also all the enemy are stronger than you, unless you have really good gun and outfit
BUT the 3 dlc are multiplayer. One is fucking impossible alone( anyway you need people to launch the match)
The other is a pvp dlc
The last is a survival one( again, it need matchmaking)

I did it alone.
The echo's are explained when it says "Downloading Surveillance Data", it's from cameras.
I played through the game from 1 to 30 doing basically just singleplayer. I had a lot of fun, but if that is all there was no I don't think I would be satisfied [I specifically saved multiplayer stuff for when I got to 30]. Those side missions are downright rotten.
I generally avoid multiplayer because my social anxiety doesn't draw a line between "real" interaction and online interaction.
But I'm enjoying The Division, perhaps because the Dark Zone encourages me to fear other people and that's kind of my default state anyway? Haha

I only do single player and I love this game. I even liked getting the audio collectibles. I looked forward to getting them. I didn't love the echoes at all though.

I never matchmaked. I played alone since I have a slight distrust in other players.
to take a different angle, the bar for a "good" multiplayer game isn't really high. just get enough players, a seemingly fair set of rules, and make it easy to get into... people will compete naturally.
exhibit a: rock, paper scissors... a timeless multiplayer game that has a shelf life longer than the original Everquest.
I guess the answer to that question is, "No, but it lets you hook up with strangers fast enough you don't think about it."
I don't think you answered that question, and I understand that probably wasn't the point of this video. It's not false advertising; just odd advertising.
Regardless, it seems like The Division has the same issues Ubisoft's other games have: the urge to tell a compelling story in a world grounded in some form of realism, yet bend it to their will in order to make it a playground where players get to shoot specific denizens of the world with little to no remorse.
I have just started playing single player on my Xbox one. I am finding it very tiresome, when in a mission, that I am up against 20 bad guys who have unlimited ammo and refuse to die and I have 2 weapons and 2 med kits. I died 25 times trying to rescue the doctor. Really, 25 times, I counted them. And, since I'm ranting, the save system sucks. When I want to stop, I log out and then when I want to play again, I log in. But it makes me start the mission all over again. WTF!? It will not put me back into the game where I left off. So I die 25 more times. I don't know what I'm doing wrong and no one can give me a reason for this. Is this a glitch in my system? Is this the way this game works?
+Peggy Coffey look out for ammo boxes, upgrading your medical center will increase your max medkits, I could carry 5 by level 10 or so. Also the harder enemies (the ones with a different colour and named) are bullet spongy but that is the nature of an RPG, if you can kill enemies very quickly 'realistically' it renders your levels and gear pointless. That's why the other enemies too take a few shots but they arn't that bad if you have average gear for your level, they'll take less than a clip if you're accurate enough and getting some headshots. Remember the game is separated into different areas with different level requirements, same as missions, so be careful not to delve into an area above your level. I have only died a few times on some of the later, harder missions each so at some point maybe the game isn't too hard, maybe you just aren't playing well enough? The saving system is fine, it's always autosaving but I don't think you can save part way though a proper mission. They're designed to be completed in one go anyway. and they're short. It's how lots of games have done it for years now.
Anyway, I'm not sure what to say. I think you're finding problems where the vast majority don't because you aren't used to this kind of game, sorry. It might just not be for you.

no, saving has not been that way for years. not since original Diablo, where you couldn't save until you found a way point. Every game I have played saves you where you are or maybe a couple of plays back but I have never had to restart the mission because I had to quit and save. I have been playing video games since original Doom, but I don't have enough time to spend on them now. Even these missions are too long. I see potential in the game but it's not for me.

I CANNOT STAND multiplayer games primarily because of the high number of cheaters and fucking hackers.. They RUIN the gaming experience... So I click on your video entitled SINGLE PLAYER, and you end up talking about multiplayer??? GTFO.
I was warm-ish on the Division when I got it, but I totally fell off around level 25. Enemies become way too powerful, the gun play doesn't change at all, enemy variety doesn't change (even with the 4 factions, it's still dudes shooting you), and the lack of story became off putting, instead of just ignorable. Even playing 99% with my friend, the game feels frustrating in ways Destiny didn't, so if I wanted to play one of those games, I'd play that. But it turns out, I don't want to play this type of game in any capacity at the moment.
So I'll be trading it in tomorrow while the value is still high. I hope the DLC and Division 2 games do some neat stuff, because there is some promise there, but the surrounding open-world Ubisoft formula doesn't make the good things the game does worth the investment. If this would have been a summer/fall launch game, where we could compare it to other games that have come out this year, I don't think it would have done anywhere near as well as it did, so kudos to Ubi for playing the calendar game well.

I had the same exact experience, after level 25 i got bored with this game!
it is the same thing over and over again.
All the missions feel and play the same. The side quests are not exciting either. After about the 20th level i no longer wanted to farm and the game just became very monotonous to me.
Need to get comfortable with the combat roll.
so I don't need Xbox Live Gold (Online membership) to enjoy or play this game at all?

Fenax you don’t need psplus to play this game but you can’t play with other players and in my opinion it’s a good single player game

I don't have ps plus but somehow i make misions with another random player and the top of that i found entry into the dark zone and i came in unfortunatly the were way stronger than me and i quit dz, is this some glitch in game because it pop up mesage to update the game.

The game DOES try to give justification/context (thru echoes and audio log) on why you're killing the four factions of the game, but I find and many others that the Rioters (the ones you mentioned) are the ones many have qualms in killing even within the context of the game and then the other three while more vilified, you still find out reasons within the game that makes you feel bad for killing them too.
Anyway, great video once again Scoops.
I don't understand the need to overthink the bad guys in Division. It's a video game. I play it to relax.
Because The Division tries very hard to express to the player on how gritty and realistic its world is with its setting and tone. So its natural that many players are taken aback when unrealistic game mechanics (such as unloading hundreds of bullets into a dudes head) make their way in. So the "bad guys" are one of those things. The game gives you "justification" on why you should kill these other human beings, but then it dumps you with contradicting info (purposely) telling you that you should feel bad or even then the little bit it tells you is not enough to want to put a bullet into their heads...at least not in the real world the game wants to be in.

For you to really understand the story you need to collect most of phone calls, echos and incident reports, once you've done that you realise that everything is connected in one way or another. That's pretty much my issue, the fact that you need to find every little fucking thing.
so this game have a single player campaign you don't have to play online with other people
they should've re-released 1&2 as single player games and make them as Ghost Recons. No more sponges...

is this game worth buying just for single player? my wifi is really bad for online play and im moving to a New house cause of it but that wont be for another 2-4 months untill then is this worth it for single?
+Marlon Brans I think it's always online. I wouldn't be surprised when it kicks you out of the game when it loses connection soo.. I wouldn't recommend it for unstable WiFi

someone need to make a zombie mod in this game then boom... it will go lit.. the enviroment is sick.. the combat system is awesome.. but shooting humans ? what for? this game actually give the vibe of the last of us.. but without zombies.. just imagine the potential of this game could be..

Damn...this was an eye opening video, I was on the fence on whether or not to buy this game for PC...and a game with a terrible story, no real narrative, no real progression, boring missions, that asks you to run around and shoot people for no reason as a law enforcement officer in 2016 where police are killing an innocent people it seems every week....just isn't going to be something I spend my time or money on...thank you for uploading and sharing your opinion.

people always say that the enemies are bullet sponges, well did u ever stop to think that maybe they have on all the armour and gear u have? under theyre clothes? lol and people also say that its hard to play this alone, its not if you dont play it like a C.O.D. online match which everybody does running blind through the streets shooting. in my experience you can not see shit while running, enemies spot u a mile off which inturn gets more enemies on your ass. i move slow i look around i use cover and i listen to sounds around me.just saying if u want an easier experience slow down!!!! lol
