Hey Paarth and thanks so much for the great video. I think this will be really helpful for many internationals considering moving to Finland. One thing that i had not thought about too much myself was the dependability but its 100% true. We Finns are highly independent and its a key part of the culture. People move out from their parents place relatively young and we learn to become independent really early. Here its basically given that ones parents will not be helping you with your day-to-day chores or finances once you start your studies and you move out. Super interesting to hear other perspectives on this topic 👍
Hello Oliver, thank you so much for your feedback as well as your insight upon the subject. Couldn’t agree with you more! Having to get things done, all on your own, in an unknown surrounding without supporting networks, can put you in a difficult situation! Basically, the whole point of the video is to familiarize with the host society before making the move! Thanks once again for your input! Much appreciated! 🙏
I would like to remind that there are families with different economical situations and also traditions. There are families, who have been able to offer free housing and support for their students as they have moved to university towns for their studies. Even then independence is mostly seen as something valuable. But since such families have the means to give support, and perhaps such tradition, they are giving support. It can also be a lifestyle decision, as students otherwise would have to change their lifestyle, which has been supported by their family in their childhood.
Is it scary to be independent?and is this the real reason to dis appointment other people if they want to try to live in an independent country?I think this is good for other Filipino people, rather than depending from their parent, old enough to live to their own, lazy luck of to be wise, only depending
Moved do Helsinki 4 years ago. I'd say upsides are a great social security system and convenient public transport system that can get you anywhere (for those who don't drive obviously). Downsides are relatively reserved mentality of the population and hence difficulty finding a job without connections, and lack of smiles on the streets.
You did bring up some valid points, especially about cooking!! If you’re a single person living on your own , you will feel homesick. If you can cook a few native dishes it will make you feel the comforts of home.
It's a good idea to bring certain spices too as most medium small towns don't have Asian supermarkets and you can rarely buy whole spices in normal supermarkets 🤝 I bring a big bag of whole coriander, cumin, plus some star anise and lime leaves every year or two and it blows people's minds when they taste it for the first time 😅🥲
As a Finn, I have to congratulate you for this great summary and I hope it'll reach as many who is considering moving here. Thanks for creating valuable content like this one. =)

Amazing recap, Paarth. Also you should mention that a non-Western name, accent in English, and black hair color can be a problem for local employers. Helsinki is just 400 km away from St.Petersburg but the difference in attitude is drastic.
Hi Andrey, i think that attitude will eventually change as the natives/locals start seeing more people of different culture & colour. Australia was also once like it and even had race hate incidents around a decade ago. But now its much better with more intergration of people of other culture/countries. Personally I would say the best way to integrate in any culture is with trying to learn their language atleast at spoken level and listen learn more about their music & food.
I really appreciate highly valued time. I'm always on time because of my experiences with other people that I had. For instance, my used to be friend was ALWAYS LATE OR NEVER EVEN SHOWED UP and she always had an excuse after excuse, it was seriously infuriating. I once waited 5 hours for her, just for her to text the next day that "She couldn't make it cuz of my mom blah blah blah" So yeah, I'd love to move to a county where is vauled and not wasteful at all. I also love being independent, not needing help with others and I keep to myself for the most part. Finland is my dream country to move too, I'm hoping to get a teaching job there.

1. CLIMATE, TRUE.. I do not like it either, cold and dark winter, mostly i hate raining but there is more raining in england and middle europe. Finnish winter is dry no huminity so -20°c is not so bad you think but must use body lotion. 3. LANGUAGE, TRUE...but 90% speaks english, even 50 % spanish, german, french or italian. 2. EXPENSIVE TRUE, but is because of taxes, every time when you buy alcohol and tobacco you help sick ppl (damage tax) who get healthcare for free and when you are sick yourself, you get the best threatment for free because there is somebody still who cares. In Finland we do not homeless ppl, everybody get apartment and you do not need to sleep in the street, goverment even pays your rent and living if you are poor ( how is possible ? We do not have oil, we collect taxes). Your children gets free dentist until age 18. Even your pets get cheaper municipity vet if you are enough poor. Education is free of charge when you have residency, married with finnish person, citizen. ...... 5. ODD JOBS....well decreasing, very few instead in germany so called " minijobs" reminds slavery. 4. TOO DEPENDENT =INDEPENDENT.....do you miss your mama, sisters and brothers ? FAMILY ORIENTED???? Is everywhere....homesickness? I do not quite understand this??? 6. TIME AND PUNCTUALITY... Is that bad thing?? We finnish people hate to wait, we want it now and immediately🤣 not like in spain, where one entrepreneur got finally his license for business after 6 yrs when he had already stopped it moved back to homecountry🤣🤣🤣
Hi, agreed! I have similar views. The video is not about ”Don’t move to Finland because….”, it’s about don’t move to Finland, if…, so i meant Finland is not the best place for you if you find these 6 points troublesome. I didn’t say these 6 points are bad or Finland is a bad place.
How many months a year is cold weather or snow in Finland & how cold? Expensive like CA? Is health care free in Finland? Is Education up-to high school free in Finland Restaurants expensive or normal? Is buying grocery expensive expensive? What is the minimum wage? Is buying property expensive? How about property taxes, income taxes, sales tax?
It's cold around half of the year. Very expensive, even Finns are having trouble with rising costs. Healthcare is only free for those under 18 years old, adults pay for it. Basic education is free, universities and vocational schools usually have stuff that costs. No minimum wage, but a bad salary is considered anything less than 2000 euros. Expensive restaurants, subpar food, self service. Buying property depends but will come with taxes and yearly costs one must pay. Sales tax will be 25,5% starting this September.
Thanks for posting an informative video. Few points. A. Somebody should start an Indian vegetarian snacks counter in Greater Helsinki area that serves 3-4 dishes 08-20 weekdays and weekends both. Dishes such as khichdi paapar, sambar bada, chura pulao. There is an absolute dearth on this front and cooking chores keep one occupied all through the week. B. Wake up early - acclimatize to waking up to quiet dark. And in few summer months when thats not the case enjoy the change.
Living in Finland for decades, I have often defended it and pointed out what a great place it is. On retiring, I made the mistake of translating an historical Finnish text in to English, Malmivaara's Siionin virret, from the 19th century. All hell broke loose. Mind, I did not expect fame or fortune, it was just a friendly gesture. Now I am looking to leave the country.
In bigger city centers 1000€ is not enough for the rent...unless you choose to live with bunch of other people and are sharing the flat and the expenses. This option may not be possible in many cases though. A little studio in Helsinki city centre costs about 1050-1200€/month Outside city center you may get a flat for 750-850€. Also food is ridicilously expensive nowdays. If you don't want to eat instant noodles 3 weeks every month, you should have at least 250-300€ for a months food that you are making yourself at home. . I would say that a months living in Helsinki incl. everything basic is around 1800-2000€...for a single person. Outside city center it is a bit cheaper, but then you have to add transportation to the equation...so, it's never cheap to live in Helsinki or other bigger cities. You said quite right, if you don't have a sufficient amount of funds before coming to Finland, you will most certainly have a tough time living here. Finnish people do absolutely not want to have more immigrants here who can't pay for their own living. While we are a quiet and peaceloving people, we won't be quiet if we meet immigrants like that. My advise: learn finnish language Get a Job Pay taxes and your own living Don't do any crimes...obey our laws Show respect to our culture and traditions If you'll do all these things in Finland, you will get our respect and loyal friends for life. Hello friend, it would be great help if you can give a little description about Hartola, regarding public transportation, culture, cost of living. Thank you.
Hi, honestly speaking I also do not have much knowledge about this place. I have never been there. Everything I will tell you will be based on the available info in the internet. So please try to search the info online. Or somebody from Hartola, pls share the info if you can.
Hartola is a typical Finnish little town with very little to do and no public transport to speak of. The closest train station is 60 km away from there. So the nature is pretty, the people keep to themselves, everyone has a car and the housing is cheap by Finnish standards.

If a got student resident permit then can I apply for my dependents using that resident permit from our own country? Before go to finland. Is that possible?
I am thinking of coming to Finland. Trying to find a job now. I have already worked in Northern America and hence climate may not be a problem for me. What advise can you give me, specially regarding cost of living and salary expectations ? My spouse is not working so two people in family with single person income. Also I am 58 years old. Do you feel age may be a concern to get job or Visa ?
I heard ..it’s cheaper to live ..especially for student ..they are able to work full time ..good earning ..no tuition fee for uni ..what a luxury ..really cheap food ..rent and house price ..loads of Nepalese including other foreigners there ..unfortunately won’t be happiest place anymore ..
Finland is one of the best place for an international student. I can't be happier enjoying discount on purchases as a student. Loads of work and good earnings to clear your bills and still have enough to save up.
Hi. I'm considering moving to finland. My wife is an experienced hair dresser. Could you please tell me if opening a beauty salon in finland is profitable?
It is not. There are many competitors in that business, mostly Estonians, who do the work more cheaply. There are tons of taxes and other expenses to pay when working by yourself (you need to pay yourself pension, salary etc. plus cost of commodities needed in business is very high here). If you skip them, you can land in prison. Ps. Finnish women use very little money on beauty services in general. Many cut and dye their own hair here.
YOU FORGOT TAXES. They are very high. I work online so Finland is not for me. Very high personal income taxes and also high corporate taxes and taxes on dividends, so no way.
Hi Janvi jee, I was wondering if one can get a job without having Finnish language skills. Do you think after completion of education there, it is possible to get a decent paying job (no menial job)?I'm looking forward to move to Finland as a student and perhaps settle there if I find it adapting...
Hi, yes there are jobs available in English as well. One can also find jobs related to their field of study, duting and after studies in Finland, nursing, IT, hospitality sectors to name a few.

This is fixed deposits ..my wife is student ..in account first name is my second name my wife
Hi, the same joint account works for a couple or the same household (couple and children) but regarding the fixed deposits, please ask embassy or immigration during the interview or via email. You may need to transfer the money to a regular account, I am not sure.
I can understand if refugees move to such a country, but "normal" human beings should never make such mistakes. There's only one life... don't end up miserable.
Hi, you can look for jobs online. Once you have a job contract from an employer in Finland, you can apply for a work permit. Check our videos about working in Finland.
i can guarantee you that all the points you made except the climate one is going to dash all hopes of Indians.....especially the puctuality part and of course they'll miss the constant honking and traffic chaos, so i got a feeling they'll import it to finland slowly...

Thankyou!
I love Finland :D
If a got student resident permit then can I apply for my dependents using that resident permit from our own country? Before go to finland. Is that possible?
You need to show adequate income in Finland. Meaning you must have a job with enough salary to sustain your family and yourself here.
You are great ma'am . Thank you for your reply
I love education Finland, I from Vietnam
Great ideas.thanks alot
Thanks. Glad that you find it helpful.
Many More Thanks Mom
Thank you.

Please make a video about healthcare, which medicines are available without prescription. What is the waiting time?
Which supplement or medicine we should carry while traveling Finland
None…
I am thinking of coming to Finland. Trying to find a job now. I have already worked in Northern America and hence climate may not be a problem for me. What advise can you give me, specially regarding cost of living and salary expectations ? My spouse is not working so two people in family with single person income. Also I am 58 years old. Do you feel age may be a concern to get job or Visa ?
Hello miss
Savonlinna city is good according to job prospects?
After getting resident permit for student, then whose account we will show the show money for spouse and kids?
Great explanation Madam, ! One request to you , can you send me a European CV format please ! If you can !

:)
Yes, Ms. that Scandinavian country falls in Arctic region.
Thanks for sharing ur views.

Very high personal income taxes and also high corporate taxes and taxes on dividends, so no way.
yep, you are welcome
Rightly observed
Good information.
Thank you so much.
Isn't that cold depending on the zone
yes.
This country is really suitable for Dutch people don't you think? I like to live there.
I’m finnish and work at McDonald’s, and we have alot of foreigners working here in McDonald’s in finland.
@@Tenho-kt2sm Hi Tenho
How can you be of help.
I am from Nigeria in Africa, I have always dream to seek for Job in Finland. How can we connect? Thanks in anticipation
@@Tenho-kt2sm do they know Finnish?
@@anubhajain9699 no, english is enough
🕉🙏💐Wishing you great day 💐🙏🕉
I don’t get it. What you’re saying is required everywhere in any part of the world. Unless you’re a child who can’t do anything for themselves. With the exception of climate and language the entirety of the video is irrelevant 🙄
Hopefully to have a chance to live there
All the best! Finland is indeed a great country to live in.
But if you look for happy country, they mentioned finland
That 1st is lovely
Thanks 👍
Thank you
2:14 Why should you compare it to Nepal? You normally compare with countries of the same region.
Because most of my viewers are from Nepal. I come from Nepal, too.

Hello
How are you?
I want to ask, is there any chance of teaching jobs in Finland and what are there requirements and salery package.
Regards,
Is there heavy tax from our part time job.. what is the tax percentage?
Finland has progressive tax system so it's not much for the part time earnings of students.
I'm actually planning to visit Finland for 7 days only and many sources indicate that it's too expensive even for a visit??
Doing housechores is normal in any developed country and Nepal is not even comparable to Finland..
Yes ..should I move to Finland or not ?
Watching from Bangladesh 🇧🇩....
Thanks for watching!🙏

I'd be coming from an already cold, expensive place, I know a little Finnish and want to learn more and Swedish, weather wouldn't faze me. In my country, USA, I have no sister to do anything and my mom lives elsewhere so yes I do everything myself.

@@PaarthsPopUpStudio thaxxx mam .now it is in regular account is its ok
what about medical test for working visa?
I can understand if refugees move to such a country, but "normal" human beings should never make such mistakes.
There's only one life... don't end up miserable.
Great video sister
Iam working in KSA hotel and restaurant company, so how can I apply in Finland.
Hi, you can look for jobs online. Once you have a job contract from an employer in Finland, you can apply for a work permit. Check our videos about working in Finland.
Ok you mean if we get job contract after that we can apply for work permit?
If you have job search link please share
@@sukrawaiba1837 Yes, for the link pls check the video ai mentioned in our channel!
Finland me seasonal work permit milta hai Indian ko? Kaise please bataiye.
i can guarantee you that all the points you made except the climate one is going to dash all hopes of Indians.....especially the puctuality part
and of course they'll miss the constant honking and traffic chaos, so i got a feeling they'll import it to finland slowly...
