London: the Kensington Dollshouse Festival 2023.

- Miniaturist Journal 59. I travelled to London for a few days to visit the Kensington Dollshouse Festival. It was a lot of fun! I talked to many exhibitors, saw many wonderful miniatures and of course I had to buy a couple of them.
In this vlog I'm showing you a diverse selection of exhibitors at the Kensington show, plus the PIMA entries for this year.
Miniaturist Journal is a record of my activities, experiences, thoughts and observations in vlog form, all relating to miniatures.

Cute to see Tine practicing the red shoes piano piece. J
I thought it would be fun to show that. Two years of work have gone into that miniature. Not only making the piece but also researching and figuring out how to make those shoes dance. And the piano music was just another piece of the complex puzzle.
Fabulous... those red shoes are exquisite.

I can’t thank you enough for that fabulous viewing. It saved me from an expensive flight from Australia! Not really, but it was wonderful to see so many incredible artisans’ work.
You're welcome Linda. Yes for you it is such a long -and expensive- trip! I was amazed to see several Australian sellers there. I can only imagine the amount of luggage they have had to bring with them. Not that they have to carry it on their 17-hour flight, 😂 but still....

When and where is the next dollhouse festival in London?
It was yesterday and today. The next one is in December, the Christmas edition I believe. Next weekend, Saturday and Sunday May 25th and 26th, is the German fair 1 zu 12 Die Messe, in Rheda. 😃
Can anyone help? I'm trying to find the maker of the stag head doll, but no matter how I enter "minimonkeys 'Spirit of the Forest'" all I'm getting is images of a baby sling!
