    I wish Fractal would finally develop a native smartphone/tablet editor app. It makes more sense for me, mainly on the go, you generally have your phone/tablet with you. I know there is some workaround but it’s really not as good as a native app as concurrents do.

    • @GonzaloMelo1990
      @GonzaloMelo1990 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think there is an App for that, or an Axe Editor for Ipad, but it is not directly from Fractal.

    Damn, I love my AX8, but the FM3 compact size, the versatility of the three buttons, the Ares modeling, and especially, the UI... It gives a man GAS when he already has everything.

    • @nelson-baleizao

      I love my AX8. The main downside is the UI.
      I now have it connected to a 9.7 inch Samsung Tab S2 tablet running FracPad III . It takes the UI into a completely new level and it really worths the small investment (EUR 29.99).

    Couldn't wait for your demo of this man! Big fan of your playing and Fractal fandom. Just one thing I thought I'd mention that i have to frequently adjust on your videos. The guitar sound is always louder then your voice by a large margin. I'm always adjusting the volume from when you play to when you speak. Not sure if you're shooting for a particular LUFS for TH-cam but if you could bump up your talking volume without too much trouble that would be awesome!

    Hi Leon, really enjoying your articulate demonstrations... I am thinking of buying an FM3 but I have had decent digital modellers before and wary of two things essential to me:- 1) I use cleans a lot, and I am always disappointed by digital modelled cleans because they sound so thin, and when I A/B against my real tube amps I never seem to get that full warmth and thickness out of a modeller that a tube amp offers. I know you operate principally in hi gain heaven but have you ever AB’d FM3’s cleans vs a good tube amp? 2) some previous modellers I have owned do not offer sufficient tactile and visual facilities to tweak “in battle”... one the big issues is always maintaining output level balance across the presets after tweaking EQ etc,... does FM3 offer simple intuitive swift deep editing of the core amp and effects that can be tweaked same as a pedal on a traditional board? Phew ... hope I’m clear, and really hope you can help me on these two points ... 😅

    • @LeonTodd
      @LeonTodd  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      In reverse order;
      2) - Performance mode is coming in an upcoming update and this gives you ten controls of ANY parameter you need instant access to live. So handy.
      1) I think a lot of that magic with cleans from a real amp comes from the sound of the speaker cab, and that's hard to capture the feel once mic'd. My JTM45 mic'd sounds exactly like the Axe JTM45 and an IR of my cab and that's probably my favourite clean. Cleans are a SUPER personal thing though.

    Fantastic..and I think worth for waiting on my turn in the list. Some questions crop to me that as a novice I will probably nervous if a mistake occurs in hitting only three buttons for moving back and forth from scene 1 thru 8 durning live gigs, I'm really afraid.

    • @GenerationDown
      @GenerationDown 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you in a Dream Theater cover band? If not I doubt you’ll need to use 8 scenes. If you DO, and worry about making mistakes, you can just make multiple presets for the same song, and switch between the presets instead.

    Very Nice,
    question: will the FM3 do a circular delay, pan delay, and high quality reverb like in the Lexicon PCM70?
    Basically, I'd like to know are the effects of the same quality as the Lexicon, Eventide rack gear we've all come to love but hate to lug!
    Also, does the FM3 do everything the FM9 will do?
    Thanks for sharing

I just play for my own stress relief at home so I don't need some "keep up with a drummer" volume blasting system. Basically asking what are the feasible options outside of using headphones. Hey Leon could you PLEASE recommend a good set of studio monitors to use with this and with a tube amp and irs I keep asking people for suggestions to no avail! I just want a good set that will sound the best for playing through while recording really just need some advice on what to get! Something that isn’t thousands of dollars preferably!

      I'm using Adam A7X monitors at home but if you're on a tighter budget try their T7V models or the Samson Resolv monitors.

    Thanks for the video. I'm curious, is the amp/cab models less than the AXFX III? Because it looks like you could purchase this (999) and an FC-6 for about $1000 less than the III and an FC-6. Im using an AX8 now and not sure what route to go. Thanks man

    • @LeonTodd
      @LeonTodd  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly the same models. Only thing you can't do is run two amp blocks at the same time like the Axe-Fx III

    I'm using a full-size Revivaldrive Custom as my 2 amp channels into Strymon Big Sky>Timeline, then into an Orange Pedal Baby>PPC212OB cab. I'm really thinking about swapping out my entire board for the FM3+FC6+2 expression pedals. Do you think the verbs and delays in the FM3 rival the Strymons? That's my main worry holding me up.

    • @LeonTodd
      @LeonTodd  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Quality is every bit as good if not better IMO, plus the routing possibilities are far more flexible.

    I'm new to these modeling amps and have no idea how you use them. Does all these amp settings he's using like a boosted marshall 800 or Mesa Boogie Jp-2c already programmed in them? Plus Do you need a actually amp and head to use them to get these tones? Or can you just plug this in a computer and run the sound and tones through the computer monitors?

    • @LeonTodd
      @LeonTodd  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm running this into my computer and studio monitors, live I run it straight into the house PA and get a feed through wedges and my in ears. there's nearly 400 factory presets which serve as a great starting point, or download tones from other users, or bake your own once you're comfy with it.

    I’m still on the fence between Fractal FM3, Fractal FM9, Boss GT1000, MOOER GE300 and Hotone Ampero II
    Fratal might be far more than I need. But the sounds and presets seem very good. I’m mostly in ambient and Pink Floyd Gilmour tones … so lots of reverb pedals is a must have … which is very limited on the FM3. My other concern is many of the youtube videos and blogs indicate Fractal FM3 and FM9 run over >80% CPU? And cannot handle a lot of effects or too many reverb blocks. So, adding a couple Strymon reverb pedals is not an option with Fractal. High CPU seems risky to dropping sounds or impacting recordings. Any thoughts on these units, best bang for the bucks and user friendly PC SW editors. Maybe the GT100 is the mid-point compromise? Thoughts?

    • @LeonTodd

      The Fractal stuff is the best sounding out there
