    I love the fact that you have your 8 year old out there helping you to cut trees down! 😂. Don’t feel bad about paying someone to finish the job. You did a good part of it and you clearly have better things to do! I really appreciate your channel. You have taught me a lot!

    I accidentally did exactly what you suggested. I up potted my Conadria fig tree I got from you last year into a 2 gallon pot and let it grow, beautifully I might add. I’ll plant it in the ground this Spring. Thank you for all of your wisdom! I feel much more confident now in zone 8b especially after the deep freezes the last 2 years.

    I have a little miss figgy and i love it! It has purduced a significant amount of figs for being in a pot. I would definitely recommend it.

    I planted a Chicago Hardy in NE Kansas 6a spring 2022. We had a -19 week that winter. It came up great last spring and had about 8 figs in the fall. Going to put a Celeste into the ground this year to see how that does.

    I'm in zone 5 and I drag them to the basement every winter. Lol soon as I get good at getting actual figs I'll try your cool new types.

    My favorites are the white Royal and Kymi fig Trees. Kymi is a place on the Greek island of Evia and the figs are perfect to dry. The white royal is best to eat fresh, both together make the best combo to have both dry ad fresh figs. The dry figs especially are kept all year.

    I made bio char in my wood stove in small batches all winter. I put it in little biochar cookers that I learned how to make from in soup cans. I learned how to do it from a TH-cam channel called Live on What You Grow. Now I’m charging it up in a big tub and it will be ready for spring. It was a fun winter project to keep me busy.

    I got a Brown Turkey that is growing like mad. In SWFlorida we havent seen cold enough temps to slow it down I keep putting chicken manure around it( yea fresh wet manure) and that pig fig loves it. That manure would have choked a tomato but that fig loves it.

    LSU Thibodaux is supposed to be sort of dwarf or semi dwarf. I don't have it yet though. I had great luck with my Black Madera. It is in a spot with afternoon shade and soil is pure compost from an old raised bed. Good luck on the orchard expansion.

    Wow, you've sold out of a bunch of them already! The ones that I had interest in are gone. Really good video with some good information. I would have them cut the trees as well. I learned even though I can do something, finding time and effort to do the task sometimes just isn't worth it. Thanks for sharing.

    Which varieties would you recommend for a new fig grower in central Florida?

    • @LazyDogFarm
      @LazyDogFarm  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Any of them would do well in Florida, but the LSU varieties should do exceptionally well.

    Hi! I’m in San Diego zone 10b. It’s March 1st. I have a VdB which is in a half wine barrel. This is my first fig tree. I pruned it back in November then it started growing shoots and has a bunch of figs on the new growth. They’ve been on for at least 6-8 wks but don’t seem to be ripening up at all. Is this normal for this time of year? Should I pull off the figs or just let the tree do it’s thing…thanks for any help!

    • @LazyDogFarm
      @LazyDogFarm  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      VDB takes forever to ripen. And in the first couple years my VDB figs didn't ever ripen. It wasn't until the 3rd year or so that they started to ripen for me. They're really tasty, they just take more patience.

    What is the best tasting honey fig you have?

    • @LazyDogFarm
      @LazyDogFarm  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      All the honey figs taste pretty similar to me, so I really like LSU Gold because the figs are huge.

    Hello. We are located in western colorado. Zip code 81526. Not sure the zone. Anyway I love figs. A few people have some. Not sure the variety.
    Can you tell me more. On what could grow here. Thanks

    • @LazyDogFarm

      Probably have to go them in a 10 gal pot there. Many folks up north do that. Allows you to protect them during the winter better.
