Interesting. Thanks thank you for the feedback. Sounds like cleaner signal path offered some improvement.

This preamplifier is a part of Pioneer Urushi flagship combo, together with Pioneer Elite m90 power amp. Pioneer Elite was highly rated in the audio press in the 1980s. In the Japanese Stereo sound it got higher ratings than eg sansui b2201, b2301l or accuphase p300. It was a piece of the old hi end

I’m mainly a headphone guy and I picked up a c90 and m90 in fabulous condition the other day. Was blown away by the quality off the headphone amp alone, drives my 300 ohm Sennheisers to piercing decibels at only 12’o clock, really makes all my “audiophile” headphone amps wimpy in comparison. Incredible bass and sub-bass as well. I also tried the direct-in to the amp off my dac but I found you really need to use the C90 in-between to get the richer mids and highs, the bass is a bit overpowering directly to the amp.

That’s a beauty with impressive THD. Great presentation, too. Shame they didn’t use real wood veneer on the side panels, though. What’s your plan for this one, Ben?

This one will be posted for sale shorty. If I ever come across the “a” version with no video switching I’ll probably stash it away.

We’re is the fuse on this?

The 230V outputs in my amplifier are not working. Could it be the fuses that have blown, or is there something else that needs to be replaced?

Can it start up on the Phono channel with tone activated, so you don't have to do it every time you turn it on?
