I miss Kim Jung Gi, his talent was super unique and he was a free soul saying and drawing whatever he wanted. He wasn't caught up in the whole occidental trap that you have to behave like this and that, and I admire him so much for that. When teaching about perspective and explaining some super basic concepts he used to say "if you have problems to understand this then do something else" 🤣🤣 like saying "ok bro, drawing is cool and fun but you still have to study and practice a little and stop asking about the magical pen".
I love how he never worried about the perfection of the small details. His lines weren't always straight and some of the smaller details seemed almost too simplistic but when everything was said and done it was always the most perfect and detailed work of art.
It took me a few times looking over this video and really digesting what hes saying to realize that I shouldnt be watching tutorials to learn how other people draw. I need to enjoy the experience it and have fun. Otherwise I wont learn a darn thing about drawing or even myself. Dont be scared of the paper or the process. Learn in your own way and you'll be the master of your own worlds that you create. Thats how he became so great.
