Pauls RC 3D printed glider with receiver failure

  • Test flight of Paul's 3D printed RC powered glider. It looks like he had some sort of receiver failure.

    this was probably a servo glitch crash. not rx failure. if/when a servo glitches the whole control system spaz's out. and, among other things, the aileron servos go to full deflection. servos will tolerate just so much vibration. then, the internal position sensor glitches. the amount of noise coming from an electric prop is an indicator of the amount of vibration that is present. in this case, the prop noise was not really excessive, but there was some. servo glitching tends to happen After flying a model around for a few minutes.
    in the future, to prevent a repeat of this, servos should be installed using vibration damping components (screws, grommets, etc.).
