Markon inspectors are seeing effects of recent erratic weather, which may include:
Uneven size
Fluctuating density
Elevated dirt
Internal burn
Seeder/long core
Growth crack
•Some liner lettuce case weights are ranging between 38 to 42 pounds; Markon First Crop (MFC) is being substituted with Markon Best Available (MBA)
•Expect these quality challenges to continue through the rest of the desert growing season as grower/shippers’ transition back to the Huron, Oxnard, and Salinas Valley growing regions
